Tite Kubo, the author of Bleach, has released an update on the forthcoming Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime, which includes new aspects that expand on the tale of the original manga.

It’s been a couple of years since Bleach announced its return to television, and we’re getting closer by the day. This fall, Ichigo Kurosaki will return to television screens worldwide as Studio Pierrot confronts the manga’s last act. And the series’ creator has provided fans with an essential update on the series’ return from behind the scenes.

Bleach creator’s big announcement

Tite Kubo himself provided the new update, reaching out to supporters via his blog. Kubo’s blog is full of sketches and letters, and his most recent addition contained a hazy photo of a script for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. The platform is frequently updated with exclusive material, demanding a paid subscription.

The dubbing procedure for Bleach is now ongoing, according to Kubo. The creator did not say how far the recordings have progressed, but fans are encouraged by this piece of news. After all, voice actors are usually the last ones to touch an anime because their recording procedures are completed once the main animation is finished. So, since the team is already recording their lines, Bleach must have completed a chunk of its episode order.

The anime isn’t the only part of Bleach making a comeback; in 2021, Kubo released the first new manga chapter since the last release in 2016. The latest chapter, titled “No Breaths from Hell,” was initially advertised as a one-time, stand-alone release to commemorate the series’ 20th anniversary.

Still, fans were surprised to learn that the chapter was a prequel for a new journey featuring Ichigo and the rest of the Soul Reapers. Since the chapter’s publication, neither Kubo nor publisher Shueisha has discussed the potential of more series continuations, although many fans have already concluded that a sequel series is likely.

Bleach anime releases

The Bleach anime debuted in 2004 and lasted 366 episodes. Despite being one of the most popular anime series, the show ended abruptly in 2012, 4 years before the manga concluded the saga of Ichigo Kurosaki and his confrontations with the Soul Society. Fans spent the following years lobbying for an animated adaptation of Kubo’s supernatural shonen epic’s remaining chapters.

Tite Kubo finally granted their desires in 2020 with the news of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. A new resumption of the anime series would pick up where the original show left off. At the most recent Jump Festa convention in 2021, the first trailer for Thousand-Year Blood War was released, along with the announcement that the series would premiere in October 2022.

Fans have only been given a short teaser for the Thousand-Year Blood War storyline, which will be released this October 2022. Netizens have been pleading for a full trailer for months, and if Kubo’s dubbing update is any indication, they may get one soon! Fans are now waiting for more information as the comeback date of Bleach approaches.
