On October 3, 2022, the official Twitter account for Viz Media announced that the anime Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will be available on Hulu in the USA. The Bleach Season 17 release date on Hulu USA is at 8:30am PT on October 10, 2022.

Internationally, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will be available on Disney+.

For those not in the USA, the International premiere dates will vary by country. For an updated list, please see Anime Geek’s live updated article that will add the countries as they are announced: Bleach Disney Plus, Hulu USA streaming deal confirmed: What it means for uncensored blood, weekly episode simulcast release schedule

For those of you who expected Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War to be on Disney+ USA: Disney owns Hulu and Hulu already has a wide variety of anime available to watch so it appears they still want Hulu to focus on anime in the USA while Disney+ internationally already has anime on their catalog.

However, it appears to be a missed opportunity by Disney+ USA to introduce anime into their streaming service for American audiences. A lot of Bleach fans expected the appearance of an “anime” button on Disney+ USA and for Bleach to be their anime catalog headliner.

I believe die-hard Bleach fans who didn’t have Disney+ in the US would have subscribed to the service.

The only clue Hulu really gave Bleach fans that it would also acquire Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood war was when the first 16 seasons suddenly became available on the streaming service here.

You can watch the latest trailer for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War on Viz Media’s official YouTube channel here:

The trailer teases that Yhwach, the founder of the Quincy, and his Stern Ritters desire the destruction of Soul Society. It’s up to Ichigo and his friends to combat this new threat. But what will Ichigo do when one of his closest friends becomes his enemy?

The story centers on a hothead teenager named Ichigo Kurosaki, who through a strange twist of fate ends up obtaining the powers of a Soul Reaper (a personification of death similar to the Grim Reaper) from a girl, named Rukia Kuchiki. With his newfound powers came the responsibility of defending humans from evil spirits called Hallows and guiding departed souls to the afterlife. Ichigo ends up having several adventures in his hometown fighting Hallows and then later in a place called Soul Society where he’s forced to battle other Soul Reapers.
