The Bungo Stray Dogs’ Season 4 release date is confirmed for January 2023, the Winter 2023 anime season.

The significant new headliner in the anime industry was revealed during Crunchyroll Expo 2022. The industry event was attended by Chiaki Kurakane, producer for Kadokawa, and Masahiko Minami, head of the Bones studio.

The Bungo Stray Dogs’ Season 4 trailer also revealed the time frame for the release date of the new episodes.

During the Crunchyroll Expo 2022 Bungo Stray Dogs panel, Minami and Kurakane discussed Kafka Asagiri’s participation in the production. They commended his commitment, noting that it was unusual to see an author be so committed as it is often the responsibility of the editorial department.

The two also discussed Nobuhiro Arai’s character designs, which were crucial in giving the manga characters life. Kurakane mentioned including moments from the original anime, which are present in Bungou’s first season. According to president Minami, it was tough for the employees to simultaneously produce Season 3 and the Bungo Stray Dogs movie.

A brand-new visual termed the “international visual” was unveiled during the panel. Nobuhiko Arai illustrated it, and it is intended for fans abroad. Minami also emphasized Arai’s involvement as the series’ primary animator; with so many characters, Bungo Stray Dogs needs his expertise. He seems to favor pencils, and Minami humorously claims that he has never seen him use pens and markers previously (a making-of video of a special postcard was shown during the panel).

Bones picked up the Fullmetal Alchemist anime after character designer Yoshiyuki Ito commended the manga, among other amusing anecdotes, which were also mentioned.
