Dragon Ball Super is gearing up for the San Diego Comic-Con, just around the corner.

After Anime Expo concludes at the beginning of July, SDCC (San Diego Comic-Con) will put things to a close from July 21 to the 24th. Dragon Ball will be brought to the big event by Toei Animation and Crunchyroll, and the anime will take over Hall H along the way.

Dragon Ball Super 2022 SDCC panel

The new film will be featured in a special panel on July 22, 2022. This is the first full day of the 2022 convention.

Toshio Furukawa, who has played Piccolo for the past 36 years, will be a special guest of honor at the panel.

The discussion will include a special showing of the film’s first 20 minutes and a Q&A session with the actors and crew. This features producers Akio Iyoku and Norihiro Hayashida. In addition to Furukawa, Christoper R. Sabat, Piccolo’s English voice actor, will participate in the talks. The event also promises some unique treats for fans who can attend in person.

In addition to the Hall H event, Crunchyroll and animation studio Toei Animation are collaborating to create a copy of Piccolo’s mansion. The mansion is featured for the first time in the new film.

During Comic-Con weekend, San Diego’s public buses will be covered in special Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero imagery. This imagery extends the Dragon Ball theme beyond the convention center.

Crunchyroll will do a brief Q&A session as part of its Hall H panel before revealing a special surprise to fans.

Despite its August release in the United States, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero will feature new footage at the event. The first 20 minutes of the film will be seen exclusively in San Diego before it is released nationwide in the United States on August 19, 2022.

Crunchyroll will also organize a two-night concert series in San Diego with their mascot Hime-sama to commemorate SDCC. Atarashii Gakko and DJ Jun Inagawa will play at the event. Of course, Crunchyroll will host its industry panel at SDCC for those interested in learning more about its upcoming titles.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie USA release and more

Fans in the United States who cannot attend Comic-Con will have to wait until August 19 to see the film. Viewers who wish to avoid spoilers should avoid the internet.

Social media was filled with spoilers for Super Hero’s main moments just hours after the film’s Japanese premiere. Crunchyroll will distribute the movie abroad, and it will be available in North America with its original Japanese audio track with subtitles and a new English version.

On June 11, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero debuted in Japan. The film takes place sometime after the events of the 2018 Broly film. It reunites Gohan and his original martial arts coach, Piccolo. They take on Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, a new pair of android fighters manufactured by Goku’s old rivals, the Red Ribbon Army.

The duo will be fighting to save Gohan’s daughter, Pan, who is now old enough to fight independently. The film will also include appearances by Beerus, Broly, Goten, and Trunks, as well as the two young half-Saiyans fused form, Gotenks, who have been provided a surprising redesign for the film.
