What is the plot of Edens Zero?

The story centers on a human Ether Gear user named Shiki Granbell, who lives among robots on the planet Granbell – a deserted theme park world in the Sakura Cosmos. Ether Gear allows the user to harness the magical power known as Ether and obtain superhuman abilities. One day, Shiki encounters two space traveling B-Cubers (a play on YouTubers) at the park – Rebecca Bluegarden and her robotic cat companion, Happy.

The robots that take care of Shiki see this as a sudden opportunity and force Shiki to leave the planet so that he doesn’t end up stranded there when their batteries run out, which would mean Shiki would end up completely alone. Shiki, Rebecca, and Aoneko set out on a journey to explore the universe and search for Mother – a fabled goddess of the cosmos. In a strange twist of fate, Shiki ends up with an interstellar warship known as Edens Zero, which had been captained by his robotic grandfather figure, Demon King Ziggy, in a previous quest to find Mother.

Apparently, “Mother” will grant whoever finds her a wish. Shiki’s wish is to make 100 friends. I’m sure Shiki would get along with Komi from the anime Komi Can’t Communicate, whose goal is to also make 100 friends!
