Fans eagerly anticipate the Shonen series’ Hunter x Hunter’s triumphant comeback, even though there hasn’t been an official release date for the new chapters. Hunter x Hunter‘s creator Yoshihiro Togashi has spent months building up fans for the Shonen’s return, even though it’s been a few years since a new chapter was published.

A recent update on Twitter allows followers of Gon and his fellow hunters an in-depth look at the artist’s efforts, in addition to the mangaka regularly giving fans a look at new manga pages he is working on.

Yoshihiro Togashi’s recent update on Hunter x Hunter 393

Togashi shared an update on Hunter x Hunter Chapter 393’s thorough assessment as well as the backdrops for Hunter x Hunter Chapters 394 through 396 on his official Twitter account, which has grown to be the most popular Twitter account for any manga creator:

Since November 2018, Hunter x Hunter has been on break. The manga had already established a reputation for being released sporadically, despite the present pause being the longest in the series’ history.

According to reports, Togashi produces the manga art solely by himself, without using any assistants. However, he has acknowledged getting some assistance from Sailor Moon creator Naoko Takeuchi, to whom he is married.

The manga’s repeated and extended breaks are caused by the author’s debilitating, ongoing back ailment, according to the author in a recent interview. Togashi claims that the discomfort from this disease is so bad that it has even interfered with his ability to use the restroom.

When asked about his current physical illnesses that were brought on by his artistic style, Togashi updated fans on the challenges he’s encountered with the following statement:

“I have been unable to sit in a chair to draw for about two years, but I have managed to resume writing by giving up the traditional way of doing things. Everyone, please take care of your hips.”

Togashi’s social media comeback and more from him

In May 2022, when Togashi opened a new Twitter account to share his work with fans, he made the first official announcement that he was restarting the production of the series. Because of his choice of username, @Un4v5s8bgsVk9Xp, which suggested that the profile was either a fake or a bot account, fans originally had doubts that the Twitter account genuinely belonged to the renowned manga author.

Eventually, One-Punch Man artist Yusuke Murata reassured fans that the account truly belonged to his colleague, and a Weekly Shonen Jump representative later confirmed this. With more than 2.9 million followers today, Togashi is among the most well-known manga creators on Twitter.

In addition to being the creator of Hunter x Hunter, Yoshihiro Togashi also created Yu Yu Hakusho, a series about spirit investigators that has gained notoriety due to its planned live-action Netflix adaptation. It will be intriguing to see if Hunter x Hunter will ever get its live-action adaptation, given that Yusuke, Kurama, Kuwabara, and Hiei have all been cast for the series scheduled to debut next winter in 2023.

The Hunter x Hunter Succession Contest Arc, in which Gon and his companions are involved in a life-or-death conflict with members of the royal line to determine who will rule in the future, is still going strong in the current manga chapter of Hunter x Hunter.
