Kaguya-sama: Love is War Ultra Romantic: The story heats up

Shirogane and Shinomiya had the closest thing to an official date they’ve ever had. Also, the universe reconfigured itself to keep interruptions out of their way in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War.

Shirogane outwitted Shinomiya by acting like a sensible person who wants to spend time with his crush. This act leaves the frazzled vice president with little choice but to enjoy their date rather than plot.

Tsubame was pondering rejecting Ishigami elsewhere, implying that either the program is set up for a joyful finish to Season 3 or that this is merely the calm before the storm.

Shirogane and Shinomiya no longer endeavor to out-manipulate one another with daily victors or losers declared; therefore, Love Is War has virtually abandoned its original premise. Instead, the series has taken a more classic slice-of-life approach.

This approach is a pleasant change of pace after nearly three seasons of little to no development in the eponymous conflict. The culture festival was built up as the series’ turning point.

Both Shirogane and Shinomiya have resolved for a confession to occur. The conclusion of Season 3, Episode 11, made that confession all but inevitable.
