For those of you who may have missed it, the third season’s finale, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War – Ultra Romantic Episode 13, hinted that the Kaguya-sama Season 4 anime TV series will be produced.
What’s known for certain is that a new anime project has been greenlit for production by the producers. On June 24, 2022, the official Kaguya-sama: Love is War Twitter account tweeted, “Kaguya wants to tell you, a new animation will be produced.”
The announcement didn’t provide any other details so some anime fans started speculating that the new project could be a Kaguya-sama: Love is War! movie or another OVA episode.
However, in a certain scene if you look very closely at Kaguya’s eyes you can see two “4”s, which clearly teases the upcoming new season!
This hidden message about Kaguya-sama Season 4 is very similar to how the third season was teased ahead of the official announcement by the second season’s finale episode.

Is Kaguya-sama: Love is War S3 EP13 its most romantic episode yet?
In order to confirm this, I watched Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 3 Episode 13. The amazing episode opens with Ishigami still trying to confess to Tsubame since he doesn’t realize he’s already confessed to her by giving her the giant heart cookie. Several of Tsubame’s friends surround her and Ishigami decides to leave her alone and confess later.
The episode’s focus suddenly switches to Kaguya and Shirogane. Kaguya has discovered Shirogane at the top of the clock tower and remarks on the fact that she had her suspicions that he was the balloon thief “Arsene” all along. Kaguya thinks about how desperately she wants Shirogane to confess to her while Shirogane thinks the same.
Shirogane wants Kaguya to be the one to confess to him because he doesn’t feel like he’s her equal yet. Then, he decides that there is something more important than getting Kaguya to confess to him or asking her out, and that is getting her to come to Stanford with him.
When Kaguya gets all teary-eyed as she struggles with trying to confess her feelings to Shirogane he decides that is the moment to put his Ultra Romantic plan into action. Shirogane activates a device, which releases a large balloon over the campfire. The gigantic balloon pops and releases hundreds of heart-shaped balloons into the air. The hot air from the campfire makes the heart-shaped balloons rise up into the air and head towards the top of the clock tower.
Shirogane puts his Ultra Romantic confession plan into action
Shirogane turns to Kaguya and says, “You know what this means, right?” Basically, he has indirectly confessed his feelings to her in that moment. Shirogane then catches a blue heart-shaped balloon and clutches it to his chest.
In response, Kaguya captures one of the heart-shaped balloons and squeezes it to her chest as if to say, “Yes, I love you too.”
Then, Shirogane reveals what he’s wanted to ask her all along – he asks Kaguya to apply to Stanford and come with him to America! Kaguya thinks about this for a moment and tells Shirogane, “Yes”.
After that, Kaguya approaches Shirogane and reminds him that he promised the person who discovered the true identity of Arsene a gift. Shirogane confirms this and says that he will give Kaguya anything she wants that is in his power to give her.
That’s when Kaguya boldly rises up on her tiptoes and kisses Shirogane.
Later, we find out that Kaguya stuck her tongue out during the kiss and accidentally made a blunder in doing so, which means Kaguya “loses” this episode.
Meanwhile, there was also a touching moment between Iino and Ishigami. Iino was patrolling while everyone was enjoying the campfire and Ishigami decided to go and find her.
He hands Iino a heart-shaped key chain, which she misunderstands as a confession until Ishigami says that she needs to put it in the lost and found. Then, Ishigami reveals that he filmed the bonfire for Iino along with the moment when the heart-shaped balloons filled the air, saying she is the one who made this possible and she should enjoy it, too.
Iino is moved by Ishigami’s kindness in this moment. Uh oh…are Iino’s feelings for Ishigami changing? Is love in the air? Was this the “second confession” teased by the episode’s title of “dual confessions” and not Ishigami trying to confess to Tsubame?
