It has been revealed that the Kanojo Okarishimasu anime TV series will return as Rent-A-Girlfriend Season 3! More information will be announced in March 2023 (see the article in the link for regularly updated info).

One of the major releases of an overall strong anime season has been the adaptation of the same-named Weekly Shonen Magazine manga by Reiji Miyajima. The COVID-19 pandemic undoubtedly had the greatest effect on Summer 2020, but Rent-A-Girlfriend nevertheless managed to become well-known among viewers.

This does not even take into account the series’ popularity in other countries, as the original manga is currently one of the best-selling books in China as a result of the anime’s release.

On September 16, 2022, following the conclusion of the second season, it was revealed that Kanojo Okarishimasu Season 3 is in the works. After 12 episodes, the second season came to a close. Based on the original Japanese title Kanojo, Okarishimasu, the Rent-a-Girlfriend series is referred to as Kanokari.

As of yet, no information has been made public. The second season of the anime series Rent-a-Girlfriend was directed by Kazuomi Koga, with character designs by Kanna Hirayama. The music was created by Hyadain. Both seasons were animated by TMS Entertainment.

The main Kanojo Okarishimasu cast are:

  • Shun Horie as Kazuya Kinoshita
  • Sora Amamiya as Chizuru
  • Rie Takahashi as Sumi
  • Nao Toyama as Ruka
  • Aoi Yuki as Mami

Why Kazuya isn’t as bad of a main protagonist as everyone thinks

Despite the fact that he lacks the charismatic hero qualities of Takumi Usui from Kaichou wa Maid-sama or Kyo Sohma from Fruits Basket, Kazuya Kinoshita from Rent-a-Girlfriend stands out above all other male romance protagonists. Kazuya’s analytical capacity to comprehend others and, most significantly, himself, sets him apart from many of his classmates.

Kazuya is often criticized for not standing up for himself or for being led around by the nose by the women around him. This is only a result of Kazuya Kinoshita becoming a new protagonist to viewers. He is a very friendly and compassionate person in addition to being a thoroughly analytical thinker. He is significantly more expressive than Hikigaya from My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected, but otherwise comparable.

Kazuya is frequently criticized for not standing up for himself or for letting the women around him lead him around by the nose. Simply put, this is because Kazuya Kinoshita represents a new type of protagonist for audiences. Along with being incredibly gregarious and caring, he is a genuinely empathic analytical thinker. He is far more expressive than Hikigaya from the romantic comedy My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected.

Kazuya from Rent-a-Girlfriend is a breath of fresh air that was sorely lacking in other romantic male protagonists. But he must choose the person he wants to be with in his heart. His friendship with Mizuhara will never develop if he doesn’t ask her to be his girlfriend.
