Legend of Mana gets collaboration with Kasugai City

In Japan, there is a city known as “cactus town” aka Kasugai City in Aichi. Kasugai City is one of the largest producers of cacti in all of Japan. The company provides the Japanese with potted cactus to keep in their homes. The collaboration features the mascot character Saboten-kun aka Lil Cactus from Legend of Mana.

What is the alleged plot of Legend of Mana: The Teardrop Crystal?

If the anime decides to follow the story in the game Legend of Mana, it is likely the plot will go as follows:

900 years ago, a catastrophe occurred when the Mana Tree, giver of mana and life for the sword-and-sorcery world, Fa-Diel, was almost completely burned down. A war between fairies, humans, and other races erupted as they fought over the last remaining mana in Fa’Diel. The war ended with the Mana Tree falling into a regenerative sleep and the lands of the world were stored in ancient artifacts.

Our story begins in the present day when a young hero named Shiloh decides to make it his self-imposed mission to restore the world and mana to their former glory. Shiloh embarks on a quest to save the Mana Tree and along the way encounters humans, faeries, the jewel-hearted Jumi race, plant-like Sproutlings, Flowerings, Dudbears (small bears), and Shadoles (shadowy beings from the Underworld). Some of these creatures and individuals become Shiloh’s allies – others his enemies.

When Shiloh eventually investigates the Mana Tree he discovers that it is rotten and that the Mana Goddess has become corrupted. Shiloh is forced to fight against the Mana Goddess in an epic battle. After his victory, a Sproutling emerges from the center of the Mana Tree’s rotten trunk and it calls upon other Sproutlings to join in and together they restore the Mana Tree.

In the game, Shiloh is the name of the “male protagonist” while Serafina is the name of the “female protagonist”. In the anime Serafina will be “another protagonist” but her story will differ from Shiloh’s.
