What is the plot of Mob Psycho 100?
The story centers on a young boy named Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama, who is very shy despite the fact that he happens to be a powerful Esper and gifted with powerful telekinesis abilities. Due to Mob’s powers going out of control during a situation involving his younger brother when they were younger Mob is determined to keep his ESP suppressed in order to live a normal, peaceful life. However, when Mob’s emotions reach a level of 100% the leash on his powers breaks and his powers go out of control.
Luckily, Mob manages to find a mentor in the form of Arataka Reigen, who runs a business that helps people with their supernatural-related problems from demonic possession to ghost exorcisms. Reigen usually manages to help people with their problems with his incredible massage skills, but when things get really intense he has Mob use his incredible powers to exorcise dangerous ghosts.
Reigen makes sure to tell Mob that he shouldn’t use his powers against other people but forgets to tell Mob that it’s okay in cases of self-defense. Mob struggles to follow Reigen’s advice as he encounters shady cults, false Espers, evil spirits, and mysterious organizations.
