The creator of the My Dress Up Darling manga announced that the franchise has reached 7 million copies in circulation as of June 14, 2022.
And to thank his fans for their support he created a special illustration featuring Marin and a cute shoulder bag featuring Gojo’s face. Whether or not that adorable bag will eventually be on sale remains to be seen.
In celebration of My Dress Up Darling’s success a popular café in Ikebukuro, Japan, named Smile Base Café is doing a collaboration with the anime starting on June 24, 2022 and continuing until July 6, 2022.
The collaboration event will feature a special menu with the images of characters from the anime, and a selection of food and drinks that have been inspired by the anime, especially scenes where Marin was seen eating things like crepes. Also, merch will be available for sale at the café including coasters with the faces of favorite anime characters from the show and cute card holders.

My Dress Up Darling is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda, which has inspired an anime series. In January 2018, the manga began serialization in Square Enix’s Young Gangan magazine and has been collected into nine volumes as of March 2022. From January to March 2022, the anime TV series adaptation by CloverWorks aired in Japan.
What is the plot of My Dress Up Darling?
My Dress Up Darling is a school romance featuring Gojo – a boy who is passionate about making dolls and painting their faces, and Marin – an otaku who is into magical girl anime, otome games and cosplay. When Marin learns Gojo is good at sewing she begs him to make a cosplay dress of a maid character she admires. After a successful cosplay debut Marin grows closer to Gojo and starts to fall in love with him.
Where can I watch My Dress Up Darling?
The TV anime series My Dress Up Darling was directed by Keisuke Shinohara. Yoriko Tomita wrote the series’ scripts and Kazumasa Ishida was in charge of character design and also served as chief animation director. Takeshi Nakatsuka composed the series’ music. My Dress Up Darling is currently streaming on Crunchyroll and on the Funimation website.
The opening theme song is titled “Sansan Days” (Sun-Drenched Days) performed by Spira Spica, and the ending song is titled “Koi no Yukue” (Where Love Is) and was performed by Akari Akase.
Outside of Asia the series has been licensed by Funimation, which announced that the series would receive an English dub that premiered on January 29, 2022. In Southeast Asia the series has been licensed by Muse Communication.
