Bandai Namco announced that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will receive numerous new DLC instances.

This week, the first of these was made public and is called Bardock: Alone Against Fate. This one will center on Bardock, Goku’s father, and the Saiyan who resisted Frieza, as suggested by the title.

In addition to this Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC, two additional story expansions will accompany the game’s release in 2023 on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later.

The new Bardock DLC release

In the DLC, players will be able to control Bardock, the Saiyan who was a member of the Frieza Force himself, as he and others assault worlds before he ultimately rebels against Frieza. Players will be able to tour Planet Vegeta and other places, including the Frieza Force base, but in terms of the crucial plot points, it appears that this Bardock DLC will go moment by moment before coming to a head in a battle with Frieza.

In addition to this new Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC, two more story extensions will be released as part of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Season Pass 2 in the future. It is unknown what those will be, but even after prior DLC touched on key plot points like the Android Saga, Beerus’ entrance, and the battle with Golden Frieza in Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F,’ there is still a lot more to cover.

You’ll be able to take advantage of some Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot upgrades next year if you’re gaming on a newer platform, whether or not you intend to purchase the fourth DLC and the corresponding season pass when those release next year. The game will have specific editions on the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 systems, with features like 60 frames per second performance and enhanced graphics. Bandai Namco compared the old and new game versions visible in a previous trailer, which was also made available with the DLC overview.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot previous DLCs and more

The first season of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s DLC featured a mixture of material from the Dragon Ball Super movies and an enduring OVA. While Trunks: Warrior of Hope takes place in an alternate universe where Android 17 and 18 had devastated the planet after Goku died of a heart virus, the first two DLC missions were partial adaptations of the Battle of Gods and Golden Frieza arcs.

In review of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Despite some small problems, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s modern, semi-open approach to recounting the DBZ narrative is decent. It’s incredible to interact with so many colorful DBZ characters and witness stories that typically get passed over for game adaptations. Zooming around the surroundings and seeing the planet up close is fun. Even so, when the major battles do take place, they seem appropriately epic and compelling. Combat can also be a little lacking.
