One Piece: Red is the latest installment in the Straw Hat Pirates’ quest to make Luffy the Pirate King, and it has been a smash hit in Japan since its release. Shonen fans are eagerly down the days before it arrives in North America this November 2022, as it is already a top ten anime film in terms of the global box office.

One Piece Film: Red’s new cinematic milestone
According to Comic Natalie, the latest film in the renowned pirate anime genre has generated 15 billion yen (about $103 million) in only 46 days. Film Red is currently the most successful film in the One Piece franchise and the seventh highest-grossing anime film of all time, having surpassed Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and Weathering With You; it is also the 13th highest-earning film of any kind in Japan’s history. Oda made a wanted poster for Uta, the film’s essential character, to commemorate the triumph.
The Straw Hat Pirates travel to the Island of Music in Film Red, where they encounter Luffy’s childhood friend Uta. This beautiful vocalist desires to combat misery and pain through the power of music and the estranged daughter of none other than Red-Haired Shanks. Two prequel episodes were produced immediately after the film’s release, providing viewers insight into the three characters’ shared backgrounds.
One Piece Film: Red will be available domestically in November 2022
Crunchyroll recently confirmed the release date for the new Luffy adventure in Western regions. The film opens in New Zealand and Australia on November 3 before its grand debut in the United States and Canada the following day. Anime enthusiasts in Austria and Germany will be able to view Film Red beginning October 13.
In 1997, Oda began publishing his famous One Piece manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump; the series has spawned well over 1,000 distinct chapters. Monkey D. Luffy, a youthful pirate captain with a rubber body, and his eccentric crew, which includes a talking reindeer, a directionally challenged swordsman, and an archeologist who can manifest new limbs, sail the Grand Line in search of the titular treasure.
As the manga enters its final major plot arc, many fans speculate who will be Luffy’s last opponent. While some ideas focus on Shanks, others include Admiral Akainu, Buggy the Clown, and Blackbeard.
