Now that the final chapter of the special One Piece x Food wars spin-off from the team behind Shokugeki no Soma has been released, it’s time to revisit the entire series.
One Piece fans have watched the franchise stretch out in all kinds of fascinating initiatives as Eiichiro Oda’s original manga series is now commemorating its milestone 25th Anniversary. One that debuted a few years ago was a unique new series that centered on Sanji’s cooking throughout the story thus far through the perspective of the creative team behind Food Wars’ culinary-based fighting manga series.
Shokugeki no Sanji: The final chapter
Since 2018, Yuto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki, the creators of Food Wars, have been working on Food Wars: Shokugeki no Sanji. With six chapters completed, the spin-off series is officially complete.
Since Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, it seems like the ideal time to wrap up Sanji’s cooking expedition here before the grand finale begins. The creators have placed a lot of emphasis on how Sanji’s skills have evolved throughout his voyages throughout the seas thus far.
The last chapter of Shokugeki no Sanji is available for free reading here in Viz Media’s online Shonen Jump library:
The final chapter of Food Wars: Shokugeki no Sanji completes the circle by returning to Sanji’s time spent working with Chef Zeff and the others on the Baratie. Similar to the first time we saw this version of Sanji in the spin-off series, he must overcome yet another difficult obstacle before Zeff recognizes how much potential Sanji possesses. It puts a cap on this particularly cooking-focused perspective fans have gotten from this brand throughout the spin-run off’s so far and teases where Sanji finally goes in the main series.
Oda gift’s special art to Pokemon Go
Eiichiro Oda is maybe the only mangaka willing to go all out for Pokemon. The creator has long been a fan of the series, and the release of Pokemon Go rekindled his passion for fictional creatures. As a result of a One Piece pause, Oda has now given some unique art to the mobile game.
When a new statue honoring One Piece was unveiled in Oda’s hometown, the entire thing went live. A brand-new, life-size statue of the Straw Hats was unveiled in the province, and this one brought Jinbe out into the public. In the game, this statue is designated as a Pokemon Go stop, and he follows characters like Zoro and Luffy.
Oda made the offer to give Pokemon Go a sketch because, obviously, this is a dream come true for him. Anyone visiting the stop in Kumamoto prefecture can now see the artwork for themselves. To entice players to stop by the stop, Oda colored a drawing of Jinbe, who, as you can see above, looks ecstatic in his unique drawing.
