On July 6, 2022, comic panels of chapter 167 of the manga One Punch Man Chapter 167 were leaked on Twitter.
Written by mangaka ONE and illustrated by Yusuke Murata, the new chapters have thoroughly impressed One Punch Man fans. Fans, who are also digital artists, have been so amazed by these panels that they’ve already colored their favorite ones!
One Punch Man 166 left fans wondering about Genos’ fate and whether or not he’s truly dead. You can read more about that in my article here: Genos dead or alive in One Punch Man Chapter 166? Reasons why god-like Cosmic Garou didn’t kill Genos.
Atlas Alexander, a digital colorist, tweeted the following manga panel from One Punch Man 167, which he has colored:
Atlas Alexander’s colored panel highlights the ongoing battle between Saitama and Garou in his new “divine being form”. You can tell the battle is getting even more intense!
One Punch Man (@EVerything_OPM) tweeted, “The new One Punch Man chapter is insane. Murata is just casually making art that belongs in museums. This isn’t even manga anymore.”
Saitama VS Garou battle in outer space
Three panels were colored by Murata and shared by @Everything_OPM. It’s easy to see that Saitama and Garou’s battle has been taken to space.
That’s just as well since their battle seemed to be doing harm not only to planet Earth, but also to the people around them. Deep down, we all know Garou is just a big softy, so it makes sense that he would take the battle somewhere where he wouldn’t end up hurting the kid that looks up to him.
Saitama usually goes along with an enemy’s pace, and followed Garou to outer space. It appears as though they are battling on one of the stars or moons close to the planet Jupiter. During one of their fights they even destroyed one of Jupiter’s orbiting moons.
Panda, (@Sakuuda) a manga translator, shared a panel of the comic where Saitama is glaring at Garou and holding up his fist while in his other hand he is protectively holding onto Genos’s power/energy core. Panda has translated Saitama’s words as, “I’m not going to do anything until I beat the shit out of you. Bring it on. You’re a mere man. One hand is enough.”
It’s interesting to note that Saitama is protecting Genos’s power core. Does Saitama believe the power core is essential to Genos’s continued existence?
If Genos has an organic brain, one would think that would be the most vital body part to protect. However, if Genos has a “brain-chip” that is a part of the energy core that stores Genos’s memories then it would make it a very important part of our beloved cyborg. Also, Genos’s organic brain may need to be hooked up to a power source in order to survive, which would make it very important for Saitama to protect the power core.
Mariya Kuzmina (@bdWPsauxisI4uQZ) tweeted a few more panels of Garou and Saitama battling on a star and commented, “New One Punch Man Ch 167 spoilers! Yusuke Murata is the greatest manga artist! This art is beautiful!”
Saitama gains the upper hand and Genos’s fate is revealed
From the above panels we can see that Saitama and Garou are duking it out on the star and delivering very fierce punches. Until…
In a panel shared by Howlxiart (@howlxart) it shows Garou getting scared of Saitama, and Saitama giving Garou a look as if to say, “You’re not going anywhere, punk.”
How does the battle end? Spoilers ahead!
In another image shared by Howlxiart it shows Saitama putting Genos’s energy core back into his chest!
Apparently, at one point during the battle Saitama destroyed a moon, according to a panel shared by Howlxiart. Hopefully, that’s not planet Earth’s moon!
Are you happy to see Genos getting his energy core back? What do you think of this epic battle between Garou and Saitama? Do you think Garou is still alive after all this? Let us know in the comment section below!
