One Punch Man 167 centers on the epic ongoing battle between Saitama and Garou in his Divine Being Form. After reading the chapters, fans have begun speculating about who would win if Saitama ended up fighting Goku in his own “divine being form”, which is very similar to Garou’s and called the Super Saiyan God Form.

Let’s face it, if Goku and Saitama met they’re both kind and pure-hearted, so they’d get along and become fast friends. Goku and Saitama would most likely end up training together even if it’s just because Saitama is bored.

The only way they’d end up fighting each other would be if Goku convinced Saitama to spar, or there was some kind of misunderstanding between them, such as Genos turning evil due to a virus. If Goku tried to kill Genos, Saitama would be forced to step in and stop Goku. An epic battle would ensue.

In my Top 10 deciding factors of the battle between Saitama VS Goku, I will highlight the most important things that would determine the outcome of this battle. Also, keep in mind, if Goku and Saitama ever did fight, it would not be a battle to the death because Goku and Saitama don’t kill humans.

10. Goku gains the power of a god

Goku’s Super Saiyan God Form was later called Goku’s Super Saiyan Blue Form when he later activated his god power, but instead of his hair turning red like it did in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods it turned blue. In the movie, in order for Goku to transform into a Super Saiyan God, six Saiyans had to participate in a ritual to transfer their energy/power into Goku and trigger the transformation.

During Goku’s fight against the god Beerus he fights while in god form and has red hair. At one point during their fight the transformation expires, but Goku’s body remembers the feeling of being in his god form and he is able to keep fighting on par with Beerus. However, Goku ultimately loses this fight.

9. Goku’s Super Saiyan Blue Form is similar to Garou’s Divine Form

Later, during the Resurrection F Arc, Goku learns perfect ki control in his training with Vegeta and Whis on Beerus’s planet enabling Goku to go into Super Saiyan Blue Form – formerly known as Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. Goku’s blue form is like Level 2 of his previous red-haired god form.

Goku has perfect control of his ki/energy in this form. During the tournament where Goku fights against Hit (an assassin) in his Super Saiyan Blue Form he realizes he is losing and decides to incorporate a technique.

This battle strategy is similar to when Divine Form Garou and Infinite Saitama were fighting in One Punch Man Chapter 167, Saitama taunted Garou to stop using tricks. In response, Garou explained that those “tricks” were martial arts techniques that he’s learned and begins to demonstrate them. This is an example of stacking techniques on top of a god form to become even stronger.

8. Energy attacks don’t work on Saitama

It’s easy to picture Saitama and Goku’s battle starting out with them exchanging simple punches and kicks. Goku would move on to his signature energy blast attacks like the Kamehameha. (Spirit Bomb attack wouldn’t work on Saitama because he has a pure heart).

But we’ve seen in One Punch Man that energy attacks rarely affect Saitama except for managing to blast him backward into other objects. It doesn’t appear as though any energy attacks do any damage to Saitama.

In fact, the only time we’ve ever seen Saitama take any damage was in Ch 167 when after Garou decided to use his martial arts techniques while in god form and then copied Saitama’s Limitless Potential Form he punched Saitama and Saitama is seen coughing blood for the first time ever!

7. Goku uses martial arts techniques to up his power like Garou

In the tournament, Goku stacked Kaioken on top of Super Saiyan Blue, and began to glow. He then increased Kaioken x10 and began pummeling the assassin Hit with Super Saiyan Blue Kaikoken X10. I believe that Goku’s punches while in this form and power level would make Saitama bleed.

But, Goku would suffer from nasty side effects, such as the ki disorder while Saitama would walk away pretty much unscathed. In Dragon Ball Super Resurrection F, Goku broke out into chicken pox and couldn’t use his ki or teleportation abilities very well.

6. Goku’s final form revealed: Mastered Ultra Instinct

However, once Goku mastered this form the side effects apparently went away. In the Tournament of Power Dragon Ball Super, Goku finally awakens what fans believe is Goku’s true final form – Ultra Instinct.

Goku considers this to be a technique he stacks onto his god form, but Whis later explains Ultra Instinct is in fact a new transformation and form. Goku later masters the defense and offensive abilities of Ultra Instinct, which then becomes called Mastered Ultra Instinct and his hair turns a whitish silver color in this form.

All in all, Ultra Instinct seems like another power boost for Goku. But how would this form fare against Saitama?

5. Goku’s ultimate attack is Instant Full Power Kamehameha

I believe if Goku fought Saitama while in Ultra Instinct Form, Saitama would be taking things seriously and using his Serious Series. Both would be surprised that the other is able to keep up with their speed/strength/power. But eventually, Goku would start to become overwhelmed and decide to use all his Mastered Ultra Instinct power in one attack and unleash an Instant Full Power Kamehameha wave attack at Saitama.

With a smirk on his face, Saitama would wait for Goku’s attack, but Goku would surprise Saitama by suddenly appearing behind him and shooting a point-blank Full Power Kamehameha wave in Saitama’s face. Saitama would be left standing naked since his clothes would never have been able to withstand such a powerful energy attack, but he himself would be unhurt from the attack.

4. Saitama is always holding back against his opponents

They would start exchanging punches and this time Saitama would begin to use his Serious Series and Goku would start to get tired. The punches that Goku managed to land on Saitama while in this form would cause Saitama to bleed. Saitama would start to get bored and end up delivering one final serious punch and knock Goku out cold, and if he didn’t hold back he would kill Goku.

3. Saitama’s ability is to defeat enemies with one punch

In the end, Saitama is always holding back against his opponents and for one very important reason, which has allegedly been confirmed by One Punch Man’s creator ONE.

Saitama’s ability can simply be summoned up as “the ability to defeat any enemy with one punch”. Allegedly, ONE once said if Saitama really got serious his punch could destroy half the Universe.

2. Infinite Saitama’s power is infinite

In the world of One Punch Man, people gain their strange abilities through obsessive and strong desire. For example, Sweet Mask obsessively desired to become attractive until he just did – he became attractive. The power and strength of your 1 wish in this world becomes reality.

And at the beginning of the series, Saitama reveals when he was a kid there was a cartoon he watched where the hero was able to defeat his enemies with 1 punch, and Saitama decided he wanted to become a hero that could defeat his enemies with 1 punch. This realization took place when Saitama encountered a kid that was in danger from a Crab Monster and had a hard time battling against him. Due to Saitama obsessing and focusing on this 1 wish it simply became a reality.

1. Goku’s potential is limitless

In conclusion, currently Goku would put up a good fight and Saitama would have to get serious, but in the end, he would still have to hold back so he didn’t kill Goku along with half of the known Universe. But it would be one hell of an epic battle to watch!

Goku fans don’t despair just yet. Goku has displayed that he has limitless potential to keep getting stronger. It is possible with further training Goku could gain the power to throw a punch with the force to destroy half the universe but currently does not possess this level of power. He would eventually become an even match for Saitama, and could even surpass him with enough training if he managed to reach that level and kept on training.

In Dragon Ball Z, it’s important to note how with every opponent Goku faces he gets stronger. If Goku fought against Saitama he would end up unlocking new powers and forms. Goku is known for “breaking his limiters”.
