Spy X Family Episode 17 included three missions titled: “Execute the plan Griffin”, “Fullmetal Lady, Lady of Steel” and “Omurice” (omelet rice).

The episode began with Anya coming up with a new plan to become friends with Damien. She made sure to have a new family photo taken with her new dog Bond that she intended to share with Damien. Unfortunately, once Becky caught a glimpse of Anya’s family photo and noticed just how handsome Loid is, she snatched the picture away and decided to keep it.

Anya was then forced to come up with another plan to become friends with Damien. During art class, the children were told to use the art supplies to make animals. The true test of this exercise was to see if the children would share the limited art supplies. Anya makes a small Bond model and then reads Damien’s mind to discover he wants to create a Griffin, which is his family’s crest.

Anya decides this is the perfect opportunity to win some points with Damien and graciously offers him her assistance. Things don’t exactly go as planned, and Anya’s help does more harm than good. In a final attempt to turn things around, Anya transforms her small Bond model into a “baby Griffin” and offers it to Damien.

As luck would have it, the teachers end up thinking that Damien’s rough model of a griffin represents the country during wartime and that the “baby griffin” is a perished child. Damien wins a gold medal for the piece.

Unfortunately, Damien decides the piece isn’t good enough to show to his father and thus Anya’s plan still fails. Damien vows to himself to become an Imperial Scholar in order to make his father proud.

The episode continues with Mission: “Fullymetal Lady”, which is based on Sylvia Sherwood and not Fiona Frost as some fans speculated. Unfortunately, we’ll probably have to wait until the next episode (or even the one after that!) before we get Fiona Frost’s long-awaited debut.

Mission: “Fullmetal Lady” begins with the handler of the Westalis Intelligence Office WISE, Anti-East Division being followed by agents. At the Westalis Embassy in the East Sylvia did public work as a diplomat and worked behind the scenes, leading a large number of agents under the strict surveillance of the Secret Police. Her co-workers were in awe of her imposing presence and strength, and nicknamed her “Fullmetal Lady”.

Sylvia made sure to have a very predictable schedule so that the agents who were tailing her would eventually get bored and slack off. This presented her with the perfect opportunity to disguise herself while she was supposed to be at the pool, and then go have a meeting with Twilight. Sylvia knows she is able to move around in enemy territory freely for about an hour.

During a meeting with Twilight, she reported on the Desmond campaign’s income and expenditure report. Meanwhile, Twilight freaks out when he notices that Sylvia is still wearing a tag on her new coat and can’t tell her about it. He later reports to her that Anya is excelling in sports, which the handler thinks is unimportant information.

The final Mission: “Operation Omurice” was as I feared – it featured Yor cooking poor Yuri omurice when they were younger. Sadly, Yuri wasn’t honest with his sister on how horrible her cooking was when she made him omurice and was subjected to her horrible cooking skills henceforth. But as they say, “What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.” And the fact that Yuri was able to survive Yor’s cooking made him a very powerful agent of the Secret Police.

What is the plot of Spy X Family?

In order to maintain peace between the rival nations of Westalis and Ostania, a Westalian agent code-named “Twilight” is tasked with spying on Donovan Desmond – the leader of Ostania’s National Unity Party. However, Desmond is known for being an eccentric recluse, who is very wary of strangers. The only way for Twilight to get close to Desmond is to enroll a child in the same private school, Eden Academy, and pose as a fellow parent.

Twilight creates the alias of “Loid Forger”, adopts a young orphan girl named Anya, and marries a woman named Yor Briar so that he can present the front of a happy family to the school. However, Loid isn’t the only one keeping secrets in the family. Anya is secretly an Esper and can read minds. Anya is aware of the fact her adoptive father is actually a spy and her adoptive mother is a professional assassin.

Neither Loid nor Yor are aware of each other’s identities. Later, the family decides to adopt a dog that was experimented on until it gained precognitive abilities. Anya decides to name the dog Bond after her favorite spy cartoon. As Loid struggles with learning how to be a good father and husband while lacking common sense due to all his years of being a spy he somehow manages to form close bonds with his new family.
