It appears that the ladies behind Love Live Sunshine are reuniting. Following their most recent appearance in 2019, the student idols are ready to reconvene in an all-new series that no one anticipated coming.

After all, the series is receiving its anime spin-off, which will place the stars of Love! Live! Sunshine in a wondrous universe filled with magic, monsters, and other creatures.

The announcement was made on the Aqours 6th LoveLive! Windy Stage at the Tokyo Dome. It was there that Love! Live! Sunshine introduced fans to the first trailer for the fantasy anime, and it turns out that the whole cast of Love! Live! Sunshine is reuniting for this spin-off.

This unique show will reunite an idol group with an entire season under its belt, which is a first for the brand. However, considering their popularity, it’s easy to see why Love! Live! sought to take them back.

Very little is known about this fantasy anime as of this writing, but we do have a title. The series will be named Sunshine in the Mirror and will transport the original anime’s cast into a magical world. So far, it appears that the show will lean into isekai cliches while also inspiring some new music, so if you want to watch the new era of Love! Live!, don’t miss this concert!

Suppose you haven’t seen Love! Live! Sunshine yet, you can watch the complete series on Crunchyroll. The show is a spin-off of the original anime and features a group of high school girls who aspire to be school idols.

Love Live! Sunshine!! is a Successor Series to the Love Live! franchise’s debut anime, Love Live! School Idol Project. It is part of the Love Live brand, as was its predecessor, and its cast has been blended into the franchise’s tie-in Rhythm Game Love Live! School Idol Festival.

The anime follows the exploits of Aqours, Uranohoshi Girls’ School’s idol group. Chika Takami, a Uranohoshi student and resident of the seashore district of Uchiura in Numazu city, Shizuoka prefecture, decides to form her idol group with her friend You Watanabe, inspired by the school’s idols. However, like with Honoka Kousaka and her gang, things will not be easy, but if they don’t give up, their dream can come true.

Love Live Sunshine debuted on Funimation’s Summer 2016 Anime schedule on July 2, 2016, and was also dubbed as part of Funimation’s Summer Broadcast Dub line-up. As part of the Fall 2017 Animation program, a second season premiered on October 7, 2017. Like its larger sister, a film called Love Live! Sunshine!! the School Idol Film Over the Rainbow has been made and will be released in Japanese theaters on January 4, 2019.
