Fans of the anime Takt Op. Destiny will note that their favorite Musicart, Destiny, will be a character within the game that the “Conductor” will be able to direct in order to battle D2s.

On September 27, 2022, the staff for the Takt Op. Unmei wa Akaki Senritsu no Machi o released a PV video centering on a new Musicart named Pomp and Circumstance. What is the plot of the anime Takt Op. Destiny?

One day, a black meteorite containing Black Night Siderites fell to the Earth and the world was forever changed. The meteorite gave birth to grotesque monsters that started to run rampant across the Earth and kill humans. The humans decided to name these monsters “D2”. The D2 banned all music – due to the fact the music produced by humans is the only thing that can hurt and kill them.

A resistance arose to fight against the D2 led by the Symphonica International Organization and special young women, who held the power of music. These women became known as “Musicart” and they held “scores”, which were able to defeat the monsters. The Musicarts had to be directed by a Conductor.

The anime’s story begins in the year 2047, in the midst of a world where music cannot be played freely due to the looming threat of the D2s. America has fallen to ruins thanks to the D2 and a young Conductor named Takt is partnered with a Musicart named Destiny.

Takt’s greatest dream is for music to be returned to the world while Destiny desires for the destruction of all the D2s. In order to accomplish this, they must travel to New York on a deadly road trip. The music draws the D2s to the humans because the D2s immediately want to destroy the source of the music, but Takt can’t stop playing music.

Between the anime’s stunning visuals and dramatic music, this is an anime I highly recommend watching. The 12-episode anime first premiered in October 2021 in Japan. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime and its English dub was made available on April 23, 2022. You can currently binge-watch the entire series on Crunchyroll.
