On November 1, 2022, the official Twitter account for the anime film adaptation of story aruthor Fuse and illustrator Mitz Vah’s That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) fantasy light novel series titled Scarlet Bond (Guren no Kizuna-hen) released a trailer hyping its upcoming premiere!

The trailer features the theme song of the movie “Make Me Feel Better” performed by MindaRyn, and also gives us a more in-depth look at the events, which will occur in the film Scarlet Bond. The trailer begins with Rimuru and his comrades setting out on a journey. When they arrive in the Kingdom of Razha things appear to be amiss there, and the river is polluted.
Rimuru investigates things surrounding a mysterious queen named Towa and an ogre survivor named Hiiro. Hiiro happens to be Benimaru’s “brother”, but certain events will cause these two to end up fighting. Hiiro is apparently out for revenge, but why? The traveling, pointy-toothed peddler, Lacua, appears to be behind certain events that lead to Hiiro going berserk. But what is Lacua really after? We’ll have to wait until Scarlet Bond’s premiere in order to find out!
What is the plot of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime?
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensei Shitara Suraimu Datta Ken), also known as TenSura, or Slime Isekai’s original incarnation is a Japanese fantasy light novel series written by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah. The story centers on an average Japanese salaryman, who is murdered and reincarnates in a sword and sorcery world as a slime monster with unique powers. As Rimuru explores his new world he gains unique powers and gathers allies to build his own nation of monsters.
Where can I read or watch That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime?
Between 2013 and 2016, it was serialized online on the user-generated novel publishing website Shosetsuka ni Naro. In 2014, when it was later acquired by Micro Magazine its first light novel volume was published. As of November 2021, nineteen volumes have been released. In December 2017, the English version of the light novel was licensed by Yen Press for release in North America.
The light novel series inspired a manga adaptation illustrated by Taiki Kawakami that was published by Kodansha, along with four manga spin-offs published by Micro Magazine and Kodansha. The franchise also inspired an anime television series by Eight Bit, which aired from October 2018 to March 2019. Crunchyroll streamed the first season in Japanese while Funimation Entertainment streamed its English dub.
From January to September 2021, a second season of the anime series aired. Crunchyroll and Funimation are streaming the first and second seasons with Funimation streaming the English dub. After the second season’s final episode aired, it was announced that the series would receive an anime film titled That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Scarlet Bond.
From April to June 2021, a second spin-off manga was released. In April 2021, an anime adaptation based on Shiba’s spin-off manga The Slime Diaries: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensura Nikki Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) premiered on Tokyo MX.
