The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh is an all-new two-part anime film project. The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh Part I is set to premiere on Netflix in December 2022. (The film will allegedly premiere on December 20, 2022, but this date is subject to change).

What is the plot of The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh?

The story centers on a young man named Tristan, who is the son of Meliodas and Elizabeth. Tristan inherits the power of the Goddess Clan and is able to heal people’s wounds and injuries. However, due to his inability to control his Demon Clan powers, he ends up hurting others, but not on purpose. In order to protect his family, Tristan sets out on a quest to Edinburgh Castle and encounters individuals whom he befriends along the way.

At the end of the final episode of The Seven Deadly Sins: Dragon’s Judgement, Deathpierce, whose character design for the upcoming film has been released, declared he planned to return to his hometown of Edinburgh and dedicate his life to restoring it. He also reminded his comrades that the demons killed Denzel and the goddesses manipulated them, which is why he can no longer serve a kingdom with a demon and a goddess as king and queen. Deathpierce vows to build a kingdom only for humans. But will this cause Edinburgh to harbor animosity towards the demon and goddess races?

From the key visuals alone we can deduce that something has befallen Elizabeth and Tristan probably sets out on a quest in order to save his mother from an Enchanted Sleep or sleep-inducing curse. Joining Tristan on his journey will be a delinquent male fairy, who may be King and Diane’s son, and a giant girl, who also might be King and Diane’s daughter. We’ll have to wait until December in order to find out for sure!

On August 5, 2022, a spin-off manga story was released in Japan featuring Ban and Elaine’s son Lancelot, and published in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen magazine in their 36-37 double issue. Will Lancelot appear in Grudge of Edinburgh? That remains to be seen.
