Jpop singer Ado’s birthday just happens to be on October 24, 2022. Today, it was announced that Ado would enter into a partnership with Geffen Records. In order to broaden her horizons and bring her music more easily into the U.S. Ado decided to partner up with Geffen Records, a music label that was founded in the U.S. in 1980 and that is under the Universal Music Group.

Ado recently gained a lot of attention due to her stellar vocal performances as the singing voice of the anime character Uta in One Piece Film: Red. One Piece Film: Red will open in North America on November 4, 2022, and feature Ado singing the film’s theme song as the voice of Uta.

In order to push my own limits as a singer, I have decided to enter into a partnership with Geffen Records in the United States. Working with a world-renowned team I plan to introduce J-pop and Vocaloid music to the world. I hope to become a Japanese person that American teens and young adults will find cool. I’m honored and exited to become a part of the amazing musical legacy that is Geffen Records. I am looking forward to going to the U.S. and many other countries. I want to give my love and thanks to my fans!

Please look forward to my future activities.”

Ado was a singing prodigy

Ado is a Japanese singer. In 2020, she made her debut with the digital single “Usseewa” at the young age of 17! “Usseewa” peaked at number one on Billboard Japan Hot 100, Oricon Digital Singles Chart, and the Oricon Streaming Chart.

You can watch the music video for the song “Usseewa”, which reached 100 million views in 148 days after its release, and has now gained more than 200 million views here:

On Billboard Japan, it reached 100 million plays after 17 weeks from charting-in and was the sixth fastest song in history to do so. Ado was also the youngest solo singer to accomplish this feat.

As of October 2022, One Piece Film: Red has grossed over 17 billion yen (about $144 million USD) in Japan making it the highest-grossing film of the One Piece franchise, and is currently the 9th highest-grossing film of all time in Japan.

We’re very excited to welcome Japanese singer Ado to the Geffen family. Her vocal performances in One Piece Film: Red have taken the world by storm and we’re looking forward to starting our partnership when the film opens here in the U.S. in November.

What is the plot of One Piece Film: Red?

The plot of the film will revolve around a new female character named Uta. Uta is a world-renowned diva in the world of One Piece. The setting of the film Red will take place on an island where Uta will be performing her first public concert. People in the world of One Piece are able to listen to Uta’s singing via their Den Den Mushis (magical transponder snails that work as communication devices).

The Den Den Mushis enabled Uta to be able to hide her true identity as the daughter of the notorious, wanted pirate Red-Haired Shanks. Half of Uta’s hair is red while the other half is lavender (which she probably inherited from her mother).

Uta’s fans from all over the world sail towards the island in order to attend her live concert, including Luffy and the Straw Hats. Unfortunately for the Straw Hats, the Navy pirate hunters and other pirates are also planning to attend the concert. The story truly begins when the shocking fact that Uta is Shanks’ daughter is discovered, and chaos ensues.
