The story of the The Tunnel to Summer, The Exit of Goodbyes manga
In 2020, Shogakukan’s seinen manga magazine began publishing a manga adaptation titled The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbye: Ultramarine as drawn by Koudon.
The light novel and manga were licensed in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment. Here is the story synopsis:
Tono Kaoru heard a tale that the Urashima Tunnel is oblivious to the rules of space and time. If you locate it, walk through it, and on the other side, you’ll find your heart’s desire…in return for years of your own life.
Upon that night Kaoru finds himself standing in front of a tunnel that appears strangely similar to the one described in the story. He remembers Karen, his sister who died in an accident five years earlier.
To Kaoru’s amazement, he’s being followed by Anzu Hanaki, a new transfer student. She pledges to assist him in his experiments with the strange tunnel–but what would she want in return? And what will he be left with once the tunnel has finished with him?
