Kakegurui is getting a new anime series, and Netflix revealed the release date for the upcoming Kakegurui Twin anime series, along with the first trailer and poster! When the streaming service began licensing and producing anime releases, one of the first significant licenses it acquired was the anime adaptation of Homura Kawamoto and Toru Naomura’s original manga series Kakegurui: Compulsive Gambler. It was such a massive success that it spawned two seasons, a live-action TV series, and other spin-offs in the years since.

A tweet from Netflix revealed the spin-off. Unlike its predecessor, it chronicles the story of new characters in the Kakegurui world, each with their aims and motivations. It is scheduled to premiere in August 2022.

My Hero Academia, free of live-action constraints, taps into the essential essence of superhero storytelling with all kinds of quirks — and we mean that in every sense of the term. It’s no surprise that this show continues to fight with the same tenacity that has served Izuku Midoriya well at UA High.

The fifth season of My Hero Academia concluded with a post-credits sequence of Class 1A staring out upon a city packed with supervillains. This scene teased the “Paranormal Liberation War,” the next major storyline in the works.

Based on chapters 253-306 of the manga, this arc is virtually a full-scale war between our heroes and a united gang of villains. It is one of the fandom’s most celebrated stories.

Without giving too much away, the Heroes now have enough knowledge to fight the Paranormal Liberation Front head-on, partly due to some sly reconnaissance work from Hawks. And by the end of this battle, our heroes will not be the same as they were at the end of Season 5.
