What is the plot of the Final Arc?

The trailer shows Haku (Oshtor) dealing with the aftermath of his heartwrenching confrontation with Maroro, and later his final battle against General Raiko. It also reveals that many of the ongoing mysteries in the series will finally be solved, such as the amnesiac Haku’s true origins and past, the truth behind the current world and why the people have become human-animal hybrids, and what caused the destruction of human civilization long ago. A mysterious figure emerges from the shadows – General Woshis. Just what is General Woshis scheming?

There are some interesting hints that after a post-apocalyptic event the Earth may not have been habitable for “normal” humans anymore, which is why humans began experimenting with genetic engineering and combining human DNA with animal DNA (at one point in the video they mention an ice man, it’s possible DNA came from this being) to create stronger humans that would be able to survive in the new world. There’s also mention of a “master key”.

Will Haku and his allies finally manage to defeat the imperial army, General Raiko, and regain the throne of the Yamato Empire? Will they be able to defeat this new threat of General Woshis and the forbidden technology of long ago? We’ll have to wait until next Sunday (October 30, 2022) in order to find out!

A key visual for the final arc has also been released and can be seen here:

Where can I play the game and watch the anime?

Utawarerumono is a Japanese adult tactical role-playing visual novel that was released in April 2022 for Microsoft Windows and was developed by Leaf. It was also developed for – PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation4, and PlayStation Vita. The game received both manga and anime adaptations due to its popularity.

The original Utawarerumono anime aired in Japan between April 3, 2006, and September 25, 2006, and had 26 episodes in total. A short, 7-min long, omake, special episode was released with the first DVD release on August 23, 2006.

The opening theme song was Musoka by Suara. The first ending theme song that was used for the first 25 episodes is entitled Madoromi no Rinne by Eri Kawai. The final episode had a special ending entitled Kimi ga Tame by Suara. In July 2008 Utawarerumono was licensed by Funimation.

In order to gain hype for a possible second season, a three-episode OVA was released which focuses on side stories from the game that were not covered in the anime series. On June 5, 2009, the first OVA was released. The OVA’s opening theme song is entitled Adamant Faith by Suara and the ending theme is entitled Yume no Tsuzuki by Rena Uehara.

The first OVA centers on Ulthury’s relationship with a child that was rescued from Niwe’s attack. Ulthury has become protective of the child to the point that she even ends up having to go against her own friends in defense of the child. On December 23, 2009, the second OVA was released and on June 23, 2010, the third and final OVA was released.

The game Utawarerumono: False Faces received an anime adaptation that was announced on June 7, 2015. It was directed by Keitaro Motonaga, produced by White Fox (known best for producing the hit anime Goblin Slayer), and Takamitsu Kono supervised its script. Masahiko adapted and sharpened the original character designs while Naoya Shimokawa and Aquaplus composed the music.

The series aired from October 3, 2015, to March 26, 2016, and is currently streaming on Crunchyroll. The opening theme songs entitled Fuantei na Kamisama and Ten Kakeru Hoshi are sung by Suara. She also sings the two ending songs entitled Yumekaotsutsuka and Hoshi Kudaru Sora Aogimite.

An original anime titled Utawarerumono: Tsukur-kojo no Karei Naru Hibi was released on April 26, 2018, along with a premium collection PS4/Vita remake of Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen. Once again, White Fox was the studio.

The plot of Utawarerumono will focus on the fate of two countries – Yamato and Tuskur, the truth surrounding the masks, and hopefully, answer the lingering questions and mysteries that have remained up in the air from the previous seasons.

After the events in Mask of Deception, a ruthless tyrant is currently ruling the Yamato Empire. It will be up to a couple of familiar faces to band together to face off against the might of the Imperial army. Nations and generals will have to pick a side to fight for in this civil war where the fate of this fantasy world hangs in the balance.
