On September 2, 2022, the official Twitter account for the anime adaptation of Take’s Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! (Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai!) manga revealed at the ending theme song for the upcoming Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! Season 2.

The Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! W ED “Happy Life” will be performed by the recently debuted unit – MKLNtic.

About a month ago, Kano (under her Gaming Vtuber account, Mahoro) and Lon (a well-known Utaite) posted a countdown site for a new YouTube account called MKLNtic.

On August 10, 2022, MKLNtic released a music video featuring Kon and Lon’s cover of Kanaria’s song “Identity”.

What is the plot of Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out?

The story centers on a young Japanese girl named Hana Uzaki, who is thrilled to discover that her fellow high school upperclassman, Shinichi Sakurai, will be attending the same college as her. However, after she closely observes him just lazing around she’s discouraged that he’s become such a loser. For his own good, Uzaki decides she will take Shinichi under her wing. She plans to spend as much time with him as possible so that he can get over being an introvert and stop coming off as being “intimidating” to their fellow classmates.

Although all Uzaki wants is for Shinichi to experience a fun college life, from Shinichi’s perspective, however, Uzaki has become this annoying pest who stalks him and makes his life miserable with all her teasing. Will Shinichi ever be able to get through to her that he actually enjoys his “loner lifestyle” or will he be won over by Uzaki’s zany charm?

Where can I read the Uzaki-chan manga and watch the anime?

On December 1, 2017, Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! began serialization through Niconico Seiga’s Dra Dra Sharp website and the manga’s chapters have been collected into eight tankobon volumes. The manga’s English version has been licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment for release in North America.

From July 10 to September 25, 2020, the 12-episode series aired on AT-X and other channels in Japan. On July 3, 2020, Funimation announced they had acquired the series and would stream it on its website in North America and the British Isles, and on AnimeLab in Australia and New Zealand. On September 10, 2020, Funimation announced the anime would get an English dub. With Sony’s acquisition of Crunchyroll, the series is now available for streaming there.

In October 2022, the second season titled Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! W is set to premiere. Kano and Naomi Ozora, as her character, Hana Uzaki, will perform the opening theme song “Ichigo Ichi Celebration”.
