A trailer PV for Detective Conan: The Culprit Hanzawa was released, revealing that the anime is set to premiere on October 3, 2022. The show will air on TOKYO MX and Yomiuri TV on October 3 and on BS Nippon Television on October 4, 2022. Netflix will stream the anime on October 4 in Japan and internationally at a later date, yet to be announced.

The anime was first announced back in October 2021, with the main cast and staff being revealed in 2022. Along with Detective Conan: The Culprit Hanzawa anime adaptation of another spin-off, Detective Conan: Zero’s Tea Time or Meitantei Conan: Zero no Tea Time was also announced.

The main trailer PV shows the titular Hanzawa-san in action. It also reveals and previews the opening and ending theme songs of Detective Conan: The Culprit Hanzawa.

The OP theme song is “Tsukamaete, Konya” (Arrest Me Tonight) by Leon Niihama, and the ED theme song is “Secret, voice of my heart” by Mai Kuraki. “Tsukamaete, Konya” will be released on September 28, 2022, while the release date for the ED theme song is yet to be announced.

The main cast of the anime includes:

  • Shouta Aoi as Hanzawa-san
  • Inori Minase as Pometaro
  • Minami Takayama as Conan Edogawa
  • Wakana Yamazaki as Ran Mori

Akitaro Daichi is directing the anime at TMS Entertainment/Studio 1. Fu Chisaka is designing the characters. And Jun Abe and Seiji Muto are composing the music.

Detective Conan: The Culprit Hanzawa, also known in Japan as Meitantei Konan Hannin no Hanzawa-san, anime is based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Mayuko Kanba. It is a spin-off of the original Detective Conan manga by Gosho Aoyama. The spin-off stars the black-silhouetted criminal that appears in the main series to represent the mystery culprits. Its story is set in Beika town in Tokyo, a town that is the center of the story in the Detective Conan main series.

Detective Conan: The Culprit Hanzawa manga has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Shonen Sunday S magazine since July 2017. Shogakukan has compiled its chapters into six tankobon volumes.
