A new anime series is heading to Netflix in March 2022! Kotaro Lives Alone is the latest adaptation of the award-winning manga Kotaro Lives By Himself.

The Kotaro Lives Alone release date on Netflix is Thursday, March 10, 2022. We’re still waiting to find out if the episode will drop all at once, or come out in weekly intervals.

Kotaro Lives By Himself was written and illustrated by Mami Tsumura, and serialized in Big Comic Superior. The manga currently has 8 volumes and more than 1.4 million copies in circulation.

A live-action drama based on the manga was released on TV Asahi in 2021 and subsequently ran for 10 episodes. Liden Films, known for Tokyo Revengers and Cells at Work! CODE BLACK, is animating this original net anime series.

What is Kotaro Lives Alone about?

Kotaro Lives Alone is an upcoming comedy series about a lonely 5-year-old boy named Kotaro Sato. One day, Kotaro moves into the apartment next door to an unsuccessful manga artist, Shin Karino.

Despite not having parents, the young Kotaro is seemingly more put together than his oddball neighbors. Armed with a toy sword, he earns his own living and makes daily trips to the store.

Eventually, Kotaro’s determination starts to rub off on his new neighbors. Kotaro and Shin grow particularly close, and Shin’s initial annoyance turns into genuine care.
