A new trailer PV for Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury was released, revealing that the anime is set to premiere on October 2, 2022.
In Japan, the TV show will be broadcast during the Nichi-5 slot on Sundays on the 28 MBS/TBS-affiliated TV stations nationwide in Japan. The anime will be simulcasted outside of Japan.
The anime was first announced back in September 2021 during the Dai 2-kai Gundam Conference Livestream event. In March 2022, during the 3rd Gundam Conference, a teaser visual and a teaser PV were released with the announcement of a prologue episode.
The prologue episode will air 1 week before the anime, i.e., on September 25, 2022. You can watch Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury “PROLOGUE” on the Gundam.Info official YouTube channel.
The trailer PV depicts Suletta Mercury transferring to the Asticassia School of Technology and fighting in her cursed Gundam Aerial. The trailer also reveals more cast and reveals and previews the opening theme song.
The OP theme song of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury is “Shukufuku” (Blessing) by YOASOBI. The single will release on November 9, 2022.
The newly revealed cast includes:
- Yohei Azakami (Ayumu in When Will Ayumi Make His Move?) as Guel Jeturk
- Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) as Elan Ceres
- Makoto Furukawa (Saitama in One Punch Man) as Shaddiq Zenelli
- Yume Miyamoto (Rikka Takarada in SSSS.Gridman) as Nika Nanaura
- Miyu Tomita (Riko in Made in Abyss) as Chuatury Panlunch

Main cast and staff
Kana Ichinose (Ichigo in Darling in the FranXX) will voice the lead protagonist Suletta Mercury, and Lynn (Sakura in I Want To Eat Your Pancreas) will voice Miorine Rembrandt.
Hiroshi Kobayashi (Kiznaiver) is directing the anime with Ryo Ando (Demi-chan wa Kataritai) at Sunrise studio. Ichiro Okouchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) is in charge of the series scripts. Marie Tagashira, Juro Toida, and Hirotoshi Takaya are designing the characters with the original character design by Mogumo. Takashi Ohmama is composing the music.

Yoshiyuki Tomino and Sunrise created the Gundam series in 1979. It features giant robots with the name “Gundam”. The TV anime series Mobile Suit Gundam defined the mecha anime genre.
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury or Kido Senshi Gundam: Suisei no Majo is the fifteenth mainline entry in Sunrise’s Gundam franchise.
It will also be the first new TV anime in the franchise since Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, which premiered in October 2015. This makes the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury the first new Gundam television anime series in seven years.
