Judging from last week’s preview, My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 11 might be the most anticipated episode of My Hero Academia to date. When last week’s episode ended, viewers were still unsure of Bakugou’s fate. Still, MHA Season 6 Episode 10: “The Ones Within Us, answered quite a few questions about how both the One for All and All for One quirks work.

With Gigantomachia still on the loose and Toga looking to get her revenge for Twice, this is sure to be another crazy episode from My Hero Academia.

MHA Season 6 Episode 11 synopsis and review

The episode opens with an unexpected special appearance from a character we thought was dead. The pilot tells a hero with a silhouette similar to Best Jeanist that they’re not ready to enter the battle before the opening credits run.

From his place in mid-air, Deku watches Shigaraki fall from the sky and hopes that he remains unconscious. Shoto catches him and safely rings Deku, Endeavor, and Bakugou ao the ground. Although alive, all three are also worse for wear.

Behind them, Shigaraki struggles against All for One, who insists he keeps up the fight and forces him to keep using his Rivet Stab quirk. Just then, Nejire and Ilda show up and blast him. They wonder why the heroes never returned but see just how bad things are where Deku is.

Things between Toga and Ochacco come to a head as the two engage in a fight. Ocaccho tries to touch her, while Toga tries to stab her to gather some of her blood. In the midst of the battle, Ochacco drops the All Might keychain Deku gave her and uses it as a taunt. Realizing she can’t waste any more time, Ocaccho launches herself at Toga with full force, and just as Toga retaliates, Tsuyu uses her tongue to stop her, forcing Toga to retreat.

As Nejire and Todoroki stand against Shigaraki, Gigantomachia finally makes it to his master. All for One is pleased, as he doesn’t think Shigaraki’s body can hold up much longer. While they attack Shigaraki, Gigantomachia attacks them. At the same time, Bakugou finally wakes up and is coherent enough to imply he’s not quite done yet.

Picking up Shigaraki in his hand, Gigantomachia asks what the next move is. Endeavor readies his next attack, but before he can make a move, Dabi steps forward and grabs their attention by pouring bleach over his black hair, turning it stark white. When Endeavor calls him by name, Dabi requests not to be called that, saying he has a “splendid name already—Toya.”

A live broadcast is interrupted all over the country and shows a video of Dabi introducing himself as Toya Todoroki. He claims his father is Endeavor. The real Endeavor looks almost too devastated to respond, and Dabi berates his family for not recognizing him through his burns.

The video continues with Dabi admitting to the murder of at least 30 people while blaming his actions on Endeavor’s intense training and dream of creating a hero to surpass All Might. From here, Dabi begins monologuing about his intense childhood training and his current plan to hurt Endeavor. He mocks his father, telling the number one hero that he will reap what he sows, just as Endeavor thinks back to the day he lost Toya.

In a flashback, we see a massive fire engulfing one of Endeavor’s training sites. At those temperatures, he was told the son of his body had been burnt to dust, leaving only a small piece of jawbone to identify him by. He reminisces on raising Toya and how although he had a strong quirk, it wasn’t quite right. He overheated far too easily because of his intense flames.

Although he wanted things to work out with Toya, Endeavor had more kids, hoping one of them would get the quirk he was looking for. However, he continued to train Toya regardless. Endeavor still does not believe Dabi and Toya could be one and the same, but Dabi assures him it’s true. He even offers a paternity test before revealing he already had one done himself. In his live broadcast, he holds up the results for everyone to see.

As Dabi continues to reveal Endeavor’s shameful past, including the abuse Shoto Todoroki endured, his siblings watch on in horror. Even Endeavor’s fans seem reluctant to believe him, but Dabi only continues his rant.

He even outs Hawks for killing Twice and Best Jeanist, revealing it was probably easy for him given his family’s criminal background. It’s why Hawks has never revealed his name, informs Dabi because it would connect people back to his criminal father.

Dabi goes on to denounce hero society, saying Endeavor is only out for himself before launching himself at his father. Shoto yells at his father, but Endeavor seems too stunned to react. Just as Dabi goes to hit them with an attack, he’s stopped in mid-air, only to reveal Best Jeanist is alive and is restraining him.

While My Hero Academia season 6 episode 11 was definitely informative, it didn’t feel as dramatic as the information that was revealed. All in all, the delivery felt a bit anticlimactic, as if parts of Dabi’s scene were rushed or just left out entirely. Still, a lot was learned, especially for fans who haven’t read the manga. Finding out Dabi is Endeavor’s dead son is one of the most satisfying twists to come out of My Hero Academia and was still fun to see animated on screen. Considering Dabi’s antics seem to continue into next week, it should be interesting to see how this all plays out.
