Blue Giant movie release date in February 2023 – Anime helmed by Mob Psycho 100 director Yuzuru Tachikawa at Studio NUT

The Blue Giant movie will be helmed by director Yuzuru Tachikawa of Mob Psycho 100 anime fame. (The Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 release date is in Fall 2022.)

Studio NUT is doing the animation with Toho animation handling the distribution.

The screenplay will be written by scriptwriter NUMBER 8.

According to a newly released Blue Giant movie poster, the Japanese premiere in movie theaters will be on February 17, 2023.

What do we know about the Blue Giant movie?

This information and the movie poster was actually leaked ahead of time by a well-known anime news leaker, Sugoi LITE (OECUF).

What is NUT studio?

NUT studio is a Japanese animation studio Takuya Tsunoki founded in 2017. And in the five years since its founding, Nut studio has worked on Yojo Senki: Saga of Tanya the Evil, FLCL Alternative, and Deca-Dence.

They’ve also worked on Saga of Tanya the Evil: The Movie in 2019. In addition, NUT Studio will work on FLCL: Shoegaze in 2023. How will Shoegaze fit in the FLCL narrative?!

Plans for Yojo Senki: Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 is underway, with no current release date for the sequel to the first Saga of Tanya the Evil movie.

Yuzuru Tachikawa was the director of Deca-Dance.

Who is Yuzuru Tachikawa?

Yuzuru Tachikawa is best known for directing Death Parade, Mob Pshcyo 100, and Deca-Dance. Tachikawa joined Madhouse and made his debut in 2007 with the final episode of Kiba.

He later became a freelancer and, in 2012, directed Arata-naru Sekai, an original video animation. In 2013, Tachikawa and Madhouse worked on the Death Billards, which would inspire the anime series Death Parade.

Tachikawa was the assistant director of Terror in Resonance in 2014. His other works include Shigurui, Maple Story, Bleach, Lupin the Third: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine, Sword Art Online, The Saga of Tanya the Evil, Inuyashiki, Bleach: Hell Verse, and Case Closed: Zero the Enforcer.
