Thank you, Crunchyroll, for making September 202w worth the wait! Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is an almost perfect adaptation of the prequel manga.

But the differences are very slight, and the ending credit scene blew me away! Yuuta has gone through so much, but he’s ready for anything.

I can’t wait to see how Sukana reacts when he learns about Rika! Spoilers ahead.

A character arc that was satisfying to watch

Even though I read the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 manga, there’s something special about seeing it on screen. Seeing the world through Yuuta’s eyes feels very distinct, despite the familiar locations.

Maki, Panda, and Inumaki get ample screen time, and the music is top-notch. But my favorite part is the final part of Yuuta’s and Suguru’s fight.

Suguru calls Yuuta a womanizer! Yuuta says Suguru is being rude and that he’s working together with Rika out of pure love.

Suguru then declares he’s fighting for justice! This is the exact conversation they have in the manga, and it’s hilarious.

Suguru only sees Rika as a means to an end. He wanted Yuuta to live, but he had no problem killing him to achieve his goals.

Despite the pacing, which matches the manga, nothing feels like you’ve missed anything. Yuuta’s growth isn’t in overdrive, but he’s earning the confidence he needs.

And the reveal about his family didn’t feel tacked in either format. I need Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2! Yuuta needs to retake center stage!

Is Gojo a good person?

It’s been a while since I read the manga or watched Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1, but Gojo had the chance to end things. Suguru was missing an arm, and he was bleeding heavily.

No one else was around, and he couldn’t defend himself, especially against Gojo. Yet Gojo let him escape.

Why? At the movie’s beginning, Gojo is against killing Yuuta, and he later tells the elders that he’ll side with Yuuta if they try to kill him.

He doesn’t explain things properly to the students. And he sent Panda and Inumaki to help Yuuta and Maki, knowing that Suguru would win.

Gojo claims it’s because he believes Suguru wouldn’t kill young Jujutsu Sorcorrors. But Suguru is willing to kill them.

That’s why he was aiming for Yuuta. So is Gojo planning something with Yuuta and Yuji?
