Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War tops the Top 10 anime of 2022 list

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime reigns supreme in MyAnimeList’s Top 10 anime of 2022 list.

The official MyAnimeList Twitter account shared the list where users have given the highest rating to Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War topped the Top 10 anime of 2022 list with an astonishing score of 9.14.

Bleach got the better of Kaguya-sama: Love is War – Ultra Romantic, which took second place on the list with a rating of 9.08, and Bocchi the Rock!, which came in third with a rating of 8.99.

Despite all the amazing shows that premiered in 2022, the fact that Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen ranked first shows just how popular the original series was. No wonder Bleach shares the title of “Big 3” with Naruto and One Piece.

About Bleach

The Bleach anime is an adaptation of the manga series of the same name, written and illustrated by Tite Kubo. The manga was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 2001 to 2016, with the individual chapters collected into 74 tankobon volumes.

The anime originally aired from October 2004 to March 2012, spanning 366 episodes.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is a sequel series covering the manga’s final story arc. Tomohisa Taguchi is directing the final arc at Studio Pierrot. He is also handling the series composition alongside Masaki Hiramatsu. Masashi Kudou is returning to design the characters, while Shirou Sagisu is composing the music.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 1 aired from October to December 2022 for a total of 13 episodes. The second part of the anime was announced during the 13th and final episode of Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen.

The second part is officially titled Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Separation. It is set to premiere in July 2023, the Summer 2023 anime season.

Recently, Bleach author Tite Kubo did an interview where he revealed that Part 2 will have an anime original fight.
