The Dragonball Super: Super Hero release date in Japan theaters is now set for June 11, 2022. Here’s what we know, things we’d like to see, and who is the final villain?

Dragonball Super: Super Hero movie is quite the mouthful, but expectations are high! It was originally going to be in Japanese theaters on Aprill 22, 2022.

Due to being hacked by malware, Toei Animation had to postpone many of their projects. Thankfully, things are looking up as the newest Dragonball movie is just a few months away!

Facts about Dragonball Super: Super Hero

April Fools wasn’t that long ago, and Dragonball fans have been finding a lot of “leaks.” I, myself have stumbled across a few, and most of them are interesting.

But this part is about the facts and nothing but the facts. So, here’s what we know so far. Super Hero is the fourth movie that Akira Toriyama has written the original concept and dialogue, drawing character designs and making them look more like the manga version, and is said to be more excited about this film than the previous three he worked on.

It’s a sequel to Dragonball Super: Broly! And thanks to the fourth trailer, we know that Broly, Beerus, and Weise are going to make an appearence.

The timeline is said to be just before the Peaceful World Saga, since Pan is three years old. The plot is both familiar and confusing in the best way.

The Red Ribbon Army is back, making Super Hero the second film they’ve been featured in. But long term fans know that the Red Ribbon Army has been around since Dragonball started.

The Android Saga in DragonballZ can also be viewed as the Red Ribbon Army saga part 2. Since most of the androids we see in the anime and manga were built by the Red Ribbon Army.

And Super Hero is no exception as the trailers introduce us to two new androids. Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. We’ll come back to these guys in a minute.

We also get to see Piccolo’s house! Speaking of whom, both Piccolo and Gohan are getting new transformations. Piccolo pretty much goes Super Saiyan!

What Secrets does Dragonball Super: Super Hero hide?

At the end of the trailers, we see a pod of some kind with danger going on near the bottom. Could there be a third android? If so, is it one we know or a new one?

Could this be some kind of bomb? I think we’re getting another android similar to how Cell was introduced. Does this mean that Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 are going to fuse?

I don’t know but very few things surprise me anymore. Dragonball is full of androids, cyborgs, robots, and bio anything. And the Red Ribbon Army has created most of them.

Now let’s talk plot. According to the official Wiki, Dragonball Super: Super Hero is about the Red Ribbon Army making two new androids and trying to get revenge on Goku and his family.

This has been done. But the Super Hero element has me curious. Is someone else pulling the strings behind the Army? Is that why we have that giant pod thing?

The Ginyu Force in the Namek Saga pulled off moves inspired by Super Sentai teams, or Power Rangers. We also have the Pride Troopers in the Survival Arc.

Judging from the trailers, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 seem to think they’re superheroes. If we take a closer look at their names, we learn that Gamma means third.

Does this mean we’re going to meet Gamma 3? Are they supposed to be the third series of androids? Because there’s more than 3 kinds/types of androids already.

That’s all I’ve got for now. All of the trailers are out and now we wait. Since the Japanese release has been confirmed, the rest of us can’t be too far behind.

The official novelization of the movie will hopefully be released shortly after the film arrives in theaters.
