Don’t be fooled; despite the long title, this is not an isekai with a horny main character. Instead, this is a cute romcom with preschool antics!
Although most details are still unknown, Konyaku Haki promises to have something for everyone. Except for those who prefer short titles that are easy to remember.
What’s with the title?
Long titles are popular now, and this one is a doozy! The full title in Japanese is: Konyaku Haki Sareta Reijo o Hirotta Ore ga, Ikenai Koto o Oshiekomu.
There are a few ways to spell it in English, but it boils down to I Picked Up a Rich Girl Whose Betrothal was Canceled and Teach Her To Be Naughty~ I’ll Make her Eat Delicious Food, Wear Fancy Clothes, and Be the Happiest Girl in the World!
The story focuses on Allen, a sorcerer living in a deep part of the forest called the Demon King. He finds a 17-year-old girl, Charlotte, who tells him she ran away from her homeland due to being accused of a crime she didn’t commit.
Allen thinks back to his past when he was betrayed by his friends, thrown out of the adventuring party, and decides to let her stay with him at his mansion. Where she’ll be safe, and he’ll teach her how to be naughty!
Not that kind of naughty!
Allen’s idea of naughty is right out of preschool. Charlotte can wear fine clothes, stay up late, eat whatever she wants, and do anything that will make her happy.
Sadly, neither light novels nor manga are available in English. But the manga’s fifth volume is coming out on September 2, 2022.
A commercial featuring voice actor Tomokazu Sugita, known for playing Gintoki Sakata in Gintama, is voicing Allen. To celebrate the event on @pashcomics on Twitter, but don’t worry about spoilers, as the short clip shows how our main characters meet.
With so many titles veering towards the adult side of things, it’s nice to find one that’s taking a different approach. So will Charlotte become the happiest girl in the world?
