A rumor has started to spread that a Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible anime is reportedly in the works. Sources on China’s Weibo are claiming that a Kubo-san wa Mobu wo Yurusanai anime will adapt the manga series.

Anime news leaker Sugoi LITE repeated the Kubo anime rumor on Twitter. The evidence is that a web domain registration for kubosan-anime.jp has been made by an unknown registrant (their identity privacy was protected at the request of the registrant).

Keep in mind this leaked information has been substantiated by any official information. Even Sugoi LITE labels the info as “premature”. As such, the alleged Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible anime should be treated as a rumor and taken with a grain of salt.

Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible manga has enough volumes for an anime adaptation

The Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible manga is already up to Volume 8 and Kubo Volume 9 is coming out on May 18, 2022.

That’s typically enough content to base a full anime season on. Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible is available through Viz media in English, and you can preorder the first volume before it comes out on May 3, 2022, and Volume 2 on July 5, 2022.

The Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible manga is about a young boy who’s practically invisible and the girl who always sees him. This is a light-hearted, wholesome manga.

Junta Shiraishi is an ordinary high schoolboy. So much so that he blends into the background with ease. Shiraishi is okay with not being noticed.

He can avoid getting called on in class, but technology doesn’t always work. Camera phones won’t recognize his face, automatic doors won’t open even if he’s jumping up and down in front of them, and people sit on him.

Shiraishi is treated as a good omen by his classmates. A glance can boost morale and might affect games. But despite everyone else not being able to see him, Kubo can.

She greets Shiaishi whenever they run into each other, teases him, offers to hang out, and develops a crush on him. Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible is a wholesome slice of life comedy.

So what’s the Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible story about?

Shiraishi is a wallflower. Kubo is the one girl who always sees him. Unfortunately, the plot is a slow burn in a sweet ride. I’ve read the first volume, and it’s terrific.

There’s no drama, the teasing isn’t sexual, and the characters develop slowly but steadily. The only flaw is Kubo’s interest in Junta. According to our wallflower, Kubo suddenly took an interest in Junta Shiraishi one day.

Whenever he asks Kubo why she’s messing with him, she laughs and teases him more. But never in the wrong way. The worst thing Kubo did to Junta was blackmail him with a picture of him looking up how to get along with cats.

Junta kneels on his desk chair, sits on his desk, stands on his desk, and starts dancing on top of his desk. And that’s when the teacher tells Junta to knock it off.

What may have started as idle curiosity turns into young love. I don’t read a lot of slice of life, but Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible is a treat, so it should make for a good anime.
