My Life as Inukai-san’s Dog anime release date is January 6, 2023, in the Winter 2023 anime season. It will air on Tokyo MX on January 6 and BS11 on January 9, 2023.

The anime was first announced in March 2022, and in August 2022, the main cast and staff were revealed by its first trailer PV.

A new trailer PV and a new key visual (see below) were also released with the premiere date announcement.

The trailer reveals and previews the opening theme song. The OP theme song of My Life as Inukai-san’s Dog is — “Gyakkyo☆Fuwaku☆Fraction.” It is performed by Miyuki Hashimoto, Yui Sakakibara, Rita, and 12 other artists.

Cast and staff

The main cast of the anime includes:

  • Shuichiro Umeda (Yu Izumi in Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie) as Pochita the dog
  • Saya Aizawa (Yuzuki Tachibana in Taisho Otome Fairy Tale) as Karen Inukai
  • Mayu Sagara (Kasumi Nakasu in Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club) as Mike Nekotani
  • Yurie Kozakai (Yuki Yoshikawa in Horimiya) as Usagi Tsukishiro

Takashi Ando is directing the series at studio Quad. Kazuaki Morita is designing the characters, and he is also the animation director. Tatsuya Kikuchi is composing the music.

My Life as Inukai-san’s Dog, also known in Japan as Inu ni Nattara Suki na Hito ni Hirowareta, is an upcoming anime based on the web manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Itsutsuse (Gosei Furukawa).

Inu ni Nattara Suki na Hito ni Hirowareta was first serialized on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket website and Shonen Magazine R. The manga later transferred from Magazine Pocket to the Suiyobi no Sirius and YanMaga websites.

Kodansha has collected its chapters into individual tankobon volumes, and to date, six volumes have been released.

The erotic comedy revolves around a student who wakes up one day to discover that he has transformed into a pet dog of his cool and beautiful classmate Karen Inukai. The story is shown from the dog’s point of view.
