One Piece Episode 1015 has taken the internet by storm after its much-awaited release on Crunchyroll April 24, 2022.

Eiichiro Oda’s masterpiece, One Piece, has been serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump magazine since July 1997. It was adapted into a TV anime series by Toei Animation in October 1999.

For more than two decades, Oda has managed to deliver outstanding chapters every week. On January 3, 2021, he accomplished another feat as One Piece Chapter 1000 titled “Strawhat Luffy” was released. The most recent episode in the anime, One Piece 1015, adapts this chapter.

One Piece is a series with more than a thousand episodes, and over the years, there have been many incredible ones. But still, One Piece Episode 1015 is a cut above the rest. For many fans, it is not just the best One Piece episode but the best anime episode bar none.

What makes One Piece Episode 1015 the best

So what makes this particular episode so incredible? There are three main factors.

  • Megumi Ishitani- If we look at some of the best One Piece episodes in recent times, most people will name episodes 1015, 982, and 957 as their top 3. There is one thing that is common among these episodes. They are all directed by Megumi Ishitani.
Fans praise Megumi Ishitani for her work.

The prodigy from Toei Animation has been continuously releasing some of the most well-produced and directed episodes of anime ever. Her artistic virtuosity, creative ingenuity, and a general understanding of cinematic cadence are mind-boggling.

  • The Animation- Lead animators Masami Mori and Hirotaka Ito and their team did a fabulous job bringing Ishitani’s storyboard to life. Toei Animation has often been criticized for its animation quality compared to other studios such as Ufotable. But in this latest Wano arc, that does not seem to be the case. Wano has been in a different league in terms of production quality compared to other arcs. And the production quality of One Piece Episode 1015 is comparable even to the latest Demon Slayer movie by Ufotable.

  • The Story- One Piece is a grand adventure, and its latest arc, Wano, has been in production since 2019. And with One Piece Episode 1015, Luffy is finally ready to end the raid. He knocked down Kaido with a brand new attack and announced himself in front of 2 emperors by hitting them with the classic “Kaizoku oni naru otoko da.” This Episode of One Piece released 25 years of hype in mere 20 minutes.

The additional material added by Toei outside the manga panels to flush out the characters even more, as well as the creative liberty Megumi Ishitani took, made this episode stand out.
