Nekotofu’s hit manga series ONIMAI: I’m Now Your Sister! is getting a TV anime adaptation. An ONIMAI release date for the anime is yet to be announced.
The genderbending anime is about a boy who wakes up as a girl after his sister’s experiment.
Animation production for the series is handled by Studio Bind. This is Studio Bind’s second major anime production project after Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation. Studio Bind has already announced that they’re working on Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 and Mushoku Tensei Season 3 is reportedly greenlit for production internally.
The ONIMAI manga is currently serialized in Ichijinsha’s Monthly Comic Rex. A promotional video for the anime announcement and the release of the manga’s sixth volume has also been released on Ichijinsha’s Youtube channel.
The ONIMAI: I’m Now Your Sister! anime is the series directorial debut for director Shingo Fujii. Series composition and character designs are handled by Michiko Yokote and Ryo Imamura respectively.
Kaori Ishihara, who plays Shouta Magatsuchi in Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, will play the role of Mihari Oyama, and Marika Kouno, who plays Rin Kohana in the 2015 anime series Seiyu’s life!, will play the role of Mahiro Oyama.

Kodansha, the English publisher of the series, describes it as:
Mahiro Oyama was just a normal erotic-game-loving dude…until he woke up one morning as a woman! Turns out his mad-scientist little sister, Mihari, tried out one of her new experiments on him…with a disastrous outcome, as far as Mahiro’s concerned! But Mihari is as determined to study him as he is determined to go back to his shut-in, game-playing life, and one thing’s for sure…life is going to get a whole lot weirder from here on out!

To commemorate the release of ONIMAI Volume 6 and the anime adaptation, an ONIMAI collaboration cafe is scheduled to be held from April 26 to May 8 at Machi Asobi Cafe at 5 locations in Japan.
