Teasing Master Takagi-san Season 2 has officially been confirmed to be greenlit for production. The announcement was made in the February issue of the Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine that became available in January 2019.
Teasing Master Takagi-san Season 2 was teased throughout 2018 leading up to this official announcement. First, there was an infamous April Fool’s joke claiming that the second season would be a prequel taking place in grade school. Then, in late 2018, Monthly Shonen Sunday blatantly discussed the upcoming January 2019 announcement but did not specify whether it would be a movie, a second OVA episode, or the second season.
The announcement depicts Takagi teasing Nishikata by proclaiming that she has “made a decision”. When Nishikata asks, “What, what?”, she replies, “The second season of the TV animation.”
The one thing missing from the announcement was the
Teasing Master Takagi-san Season 2 release date. However, it’s possible the second season could come out by late 2019 or early 2020.
Presumably, Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san Season 2 will adapt the main manga series, which is currently up to Volume 9. The first anime season covered less than half of the available manga chapters but adapted them out of order.
Fans of the series are hoping the second season will touch on Chapter 31, which is directly connected to the spin-off Karakai Jouzu (Moto) no Takagi-san manga. Unfortunately, just explaining what the Moto manga’s story is about is a spoiler in itself (for more details, please see our article with Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san Season 2 spoilers).
