The Daily Life of the Immortal King Season 4 release date is finally on the horizon! The donghua (Chinese animation) series is confirmed to be in production.

The news was announced during the Made by Bilibili 2022-2023 panel on October 29, 2022.

This was just a brief revelation, with no additional info (meaning the staff, cast, and release time frame are still a mystery). Nevertheless, the news is a merry one as the series has a loyal following.

Knowing the Chinese, the probability of the donghua sequel popping up as early as January 2023 is equal to it being postponed to an undisclosed date (which, based on experience, may take up to 5 years).

Since hope dies last, let’s believe that the release date will fit into the 2023-2024 timeframe.

The plot follows Wang Ling who, having vanquished a powerful demon at the age of six must face the trials and tribulations of high school life as an ordinary teen. Thereupon he meets Sun Rong, the Student Council President of the Cultivation School League of the Songhai Faction.

The Daily Life of the Immortal King follows a well-established pattern of other similar Chinese rom-com donghua series, which blend elements of wuxia* and xianxia** with light-hearted topics.

* Wuxia — a genre of Chinese fantasy dealing with the adventures of martial artists in ancient China.

** Xianxia — a genre of Chinese fantasy influenced by Taoism, Zen Buddhism, Chinese mythology, and other Chinese traditional elements.
