It’s Christmas Eve! It’s the day when the cutest reindeer doctor in One Piece was born. It’s sad that Chopper was literally born on Christmas Eve as a reindeer, but everyone keeps calling him a Racoon.
To celebrate his birthday, a cute stuffed toy of Chopper on a cake has been released on the ONE PIECE Mugiwara Stores in Japan. It will also be released on the online store on December 26, 2022.
Here is the cute little Tony Tony Chopper stuffed toy:
Let’s take a look at the top 10 best Tony Tony Chopper moments in One Piece:
10. Captain Chopper
During a filler episode, Chopper gives us a glimpse of what happens when you leave a kid alone in your house.
After their adventures in Arabasta, the Straw Hat Pirates come across a pineapple-shaped island and split up tasks amongst themselves. Everyone disembarks the ship to visit the island, and Chopper is left in charge of guarding the ship.
So what happens when Chopper is all alone on the ship? The Great Captain Chopper comes out! Giving orders from the top of Going Merry:
“Luffy! Don’t eat others’ food!”
“Usopp! Work harder!”
“Sanji! Prepare special dishes for me!”
I, for one, would love to see The Great Captain Chopper once again, and this time in the main story.
9. The first battle
After Sanji goes to rescue Vivi from Mr. 2, Chopper is left alone to fight against Mr. 4 and Miss Merry Christmas. After fighting them for a bit, he is joined by Usopp. This was Chopper’s first big battle as a Strawhat.
And I’m glad Usopp was his partner in this fight because by standing up for Luffy’s dream, Usopp showed Chopper what being a Strawhat is all about.
It was a hard-fought battle, but Usopp and Chopper managed to win their fight.
8. Rumble Balls
During his fight against Chessmarimo, Chopper showed his invention, the Rumble Balls. It is a drug that can modify the transformative powers of a devil fruit.
In addition to the three forms granted by his Devil Fruit, the Hito Hito no Mi, the Rumble Ball gives him four additional forms — Jump Point, Guard Point, Arm Point, and Brain Point.
With the help of this, Chopper defeated Chessmarimo for mocking Dr. Hiriluk.
7. Complimenting Chopper doesn’t work
When will One Piece characters understand that complimenting Chopper doesn’t make him happy at all? These idiots!
Chopper fluttering his hands and dancing while simultaneously saying he is not happy is so adorable. Oda has used this gag so many times and every single one of them is funny. Bakayaro! Konoyaro!
6. Withstanding a Yonko
To stop Big Mom from tearing apart the Thousand Sunny, Chopper takes her attacks head-on. Even though he gets injured, he was able to handle a couple of attacks from a Yonko. He even said to Big Mom, “Do your worst, Big Mom! I can at least drag you down into the sea with me!”
Just how many people in the One Piece world can claim that they have fought against a Yonko?
5. Bitch-Slapping Queen
If taking attacks from a Yonko was not enough of a feat, how about bitch-slapping a Yonko Commander?
Not only did Chopper develop antibodies for the Ice Oni virus in the heat of battle, but he also smacked Queen in the face using his Monster Point, making it clear that nobody is to call him a Tanuki.
Yes, the reason he was able to hit Queen was that Marco helped him. But still, the slap was iconic.
4. Uniting a kingdom
Chopper was sent to the Torino Kingdom by Bartholomew Kuma during the events in the Sabaody Archipelago Arc. There he unites its populace, settling a long-standing dispute between the natives and the giant birds of the kingdom using his ability to talk to animals.
The citizens and birds of Torino Kingdom even built a drug store named after Chopper called “Tanukichi Drug Store.”
What bigger feat can you hope for than single-handedly settling a long-standing dispute and uniting a kingdom?
3. A pirate at last
In Skypiea, Chopper encounters Sky Boss Gedatsu, one of Enel’s priests who punished criminals with the Ordeal of Swamp. This was Chopper’s first 1v1 fight against a strong opponent. Even though he got hit pretty badly during the fight he finds the courage to stop running away and confront the enemy head-on.
After defeating Getatsu he exclaimed that he has finally become a real pirate.
2. Becoming a monster
The Wendigo-esque appearance of “Monster Point” Chopper sends a chill down my spine every time I see it (Pre-time skip). And even though he promised Dr. Kureha he’ll never use this power, he uses it to protect his friends.
First at Ennies Lobby to protect Robin and then at Sabaody to protect the crew. Even though he does not like being called a monster, he is ready to become one if it is for his friends.
But as cool as his pre-time skip Monster Point was, I’m glad he is now able to control his power even though he looks so goofy in that form.
1. There is no disease in this world that can’t be cured
After tragically losing Dr. Hiriluk, Chopper goes to Dr. Kureha waving Hiriluk’s Jolly Roger. He begs the old doctor to teach him to be a doctor, proclaiming that he will become a doctor that can cure any disease because there is no disease in this world that can’t be cured.
I have always loved those moments where the character declares their dreams. And this moment of Chopper declaring to become a doctor who can cure any disease after such a tragedy hits hard for me.
I also believe this dream of his will become a plotline in the future when Luffy catches an incurable disease. But unlike the time with Roger, Luffy will get cured because of Chopper.
