P.A. Works, the studio behind Charlotte, Fairy Gone, and Angel Beats!, is taking on the adaptation.

A promotional video revealed the anime’s ending theme song to be Kibun Jōjō ↑↑, performed by Eiko Starring 96Neko. A month later, a second promotional video unveiled the opening theme song as Chikichiki Banban by QUEENDOM.

What is the plot of Ya Boy Konming!?

Ya Boy Kongming! is a comedy loosely based on a real-life Chinese statesmen named Zhuge Liang. Liang, also known as Kongming, was the most prominent general of the Three Kingdoms.

Kongming overcame many hardships during his accomplished life. He faced countless battles that led to him becoming one of the greatest strategists of his time.

However, his life came to an abrupt halt during the Battle of Wuzhang Plain. On this deathbed, Kongming wished for the one thing he longed for most: to be reborn into a peaceful world.

As a result, he was reincarnated as a younger version of himself and sent straight to modern-day Tokyo! He subsequently befriends an enthusiastic aspiring singer, Eiko Tsukimi, and the owner of BB Lounge, Kobayashi.

So, how will this brilliant strategist adapt to his new life of music, dancing, and partying?

Who is the cast and staff behind Ya Boy Konming!?

Osamu Honma is directing this adaptation, while Yoko Yonaiyama and Genki Hikota provide the writing and music respectively.

Ryoutarou Okiayu (Fruits Basket) will provide the voice of Kongming, and Jun Fukushima (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) stars as Kobayashi. Kaede Hondo (I’m Quitting Heroing) is performing Eiko’s speaking voice. Meanwhile, 96Neko–the singer behind the ending theme song–will take on Eiko’s singing voice.
