The Fall 2022 anime season is gearing up to be a good one, and the announcement of the Beast Tamer release date has only made it that much better.

According to the official Twitter for the series, the anime is set to premiere in October 2022 and Crunchyroll will handle the North American streaming. An official trailer was also released for the show as well.

The popular franchise has already produced multiple light novels, as well as a manga adaptation, so it’s no surprise that an anime was next up.

The production will be handled by EMT Squared, a studio that has previously produced series like Assassins Pride and helped on series like Sk8 the Infinity and WIT Studio’s Vinland Saga Season 1 (Studio MAPPA’s Vinland Saga Season 2 release date is confirmed for 2023).

What is Beast Tamer’s story about?

If you’ve never heard of this series, or read anything associated with it, you may be wondering what the Beast Tamer anime will be about.

Based originally on the light novels by Suzu Miyama, Beast Tamer tells the story of Rain, a beast tamer who plans to take down the Demon King. However, his plans are derailed when he’s banished from his current hero party.

He soon encounters a girl named Kanade in a deadly battle with a monster.  When she kills the monster with a single blow, he realizes that she’s not just a girl, but a member of the cat spirit tribe – one of the strongest species known.

After contracting with her, the two begin a new life as adventurers, only to begin attracting the attention of not only the people who exiled him but other strong species as well.
