On July 4, 2022, the Chainsaw Man panel at Anime Expo 2022 was packed with eager fans. They came for word on one of the hottest anime adaptations progress.

And if I’d been able to attend, I would’ve waited in line for hours to enter this panel! Sadly, the news was a disappointment.

What happened at the Chainsaw Man Anime Expo 2022 panel?

Kyle Cardine of Crunchyroll, Hiroshi Seko, the series composer, Manabu Otsuka, the CEO of MAPPA, and Makoto Kimura, the executive director and managing director of MAPPA, were in attendance. Fans were warned that the event would be ended immediately if anyone was caught recording video.

But that didn’t stop a few brave souls from posting short videos on Twitter; they got posters! Sadly, the warning seems pointless since nothing new was revealed during the panel.

We have no voice actors, no trailer, PV, or new artwork. It wasn’t even confirmed that the anime is still coming in Fall 2022 since posters from Crunchyroll only stayed, “Coming Soon.”

But that’s only three months away, and many are worried that the anime will be delayed. Otsuka revealed that the team wanted to show something, possibly Chainsaw Man trailer 2, but it wasn’t ready.

He also went on to say that there will be news at Crunchyroll Expo 2022 in August 2022. So we only have to wait a month, but will the wait be worth it?

Fans did get to enjoy a Q&A. Some of the highlights included an answer from the MAPPA CEO. He’s a huge fan of the CSM manga and he confirmed that the anime will not censor anything and be faithful to the manga.

This is a huge deal because the manga has a lot of gore, and some gross scenes, which will mess with your mind. Tatsuki Fujimoto, the creator of Chainsaw Man, is working closely with the anime production team.

Including helping pick the voice actors, which is beyond exciting!

What’s happening with the Chainsaw Man Part 2 manga?

Chainsaw Man Part 2 will begin serialization on July 13, 2022, and is called the School Arc. This means Japanese fans only have a week of waiting, but there’s no word on when English readers will get to enjoy it.

And yes, you will want to read it, because the story is very confusing. The plot is straightforward and twisted.

Reading Chainsaw Man made me uncomfortable at times, but the plot drew me in and refused to let go. I’ve binged the manga and watched tons of videos on YouTube, and I’m still confused about some of the crucial pieces.
