Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e fans will have to wait a bit longer to see their favorite characters as Classroom of the Elite Season 2 Blu-ray & DVD release has been delayed.
In June 2022, the anime’s official website revealed that the Classroom of the Elite Season 2 anime would have 13 episodes and that its Blu-ray/DVD would be released in 4 volumes. The release date for all four volumes was also revealed at the time, but it is now confirmed that the deadline has been postponed by around two months.
The staff has apologized for any inconvenience caused. According to them, the reason for the delay is to improve the quality of the anime.

Here is the new schedule for the Classroom of the Elite Blu-ray & DVD releases:
- Volume 1: The first volume will be released on December 23, 2022. It will contain episodes 1 to 4 of the anime. The Blu-ray price is ¥ 9,900 (tax included), and the DVD price is ¥ 8,800 (tax included).
- Volume 2: The second volume will be released on January 25, 2023. It will contain episodes 5 to 7 of the anime. The Blu-ray price is ¥ 9,900 (tax included), and the DVD price is ¥ 8,800 (tax included).
- Volume 3: The third volume will be released on February 22, 2023. It will contain episodes 8 to 10 of the anime. The Blu-ray price is ¥ 9,900 (tax included), and the DVD price is ¥ 8,800 (tax included).
- Volume 4: The fourth volume will be released on March 24, 2023. It will contain episodes 11 to 13 of the anime. The Blu-ray price is ¥ 9,900 (tax included), and the DVD price is ¥ 8,800 (tax included).
Classroom of the Elite 0 will be available in a bundle with the first volume of the Classroom of the Elite Season 2 Blu-Ray/DVD box set.
In addition, due to the postponement of the release, the pre-order campaign currently being conducted at Animate & Gamers stores has been extended to November 30, 2022.
More about Classroom of the Elite
Classroom of the Elite (Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e) is a light novel series written by Shougo Kinugasa and illustrated by Shunsaku Tomose. It was published by Kadokawa from May 2015 to September 2019; the series features 11 main volumes and 3 short stories.
In 2020, a sequel light novel series titled Classroom of the Elite: Year 2 was released. Seven volumes of the series have been released so far.
Both these series have received a manga adaptation. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the light novel- and the manga series in English.
Classroom of the Elite has been adapted into an anime series by Lerche. Season 1 was broadcast in 2017, while Season 2 is currently airing.
It has also been announced that the Classroom of the Elite Season 3 release date will be in 2023!
