On August 11, 2022, @FortniteGame announced on Twitter that the long-awaited collaboration between Dragon Ball and Fortnite is official! We have a release date, two teaser images, a lobby change in the Fortnite game, and lots of speculation from leakers.
I’ll start with what is confirmed and then cover some more talked-about “leaks.”
The Fortnite event will begin on August 16, 2022. The Kame House pictured above is already a part of the lobby, but players can visit the location in-game now.
This particular Easter Egg has been available to players for a few months now, so if you wish to find it, head near the edge of the map and look for a chair under a red umbrella to find a bottle with the Capsule Corp logo. Dataminers unveiled some iconic Dragon Ball objects in the Fortnite files back in Mid-July.
You can also add CHA-LA HEAD CHA-LA, one of the most iconic theme songs from the Dragon Ball franchise, to your playlist and play a custom map in Creative Mode in Fortnite!
Unfortunately, we don’t know how much everything will cost. But we can look to previous collaborations to make some solid guesses with the leaks.
Dragon Ball Fortnite: Goku and Vegata confirmed
We’ll get four skins with the Fortnite Dragon Ball event if we use the Naruto collab as a reference. In addition, Goku and Vegeta have been confirmed and will come with a built-in emote to go Super Saiyan.
Beerus has also been confirmed, but the 4th skin is still under wraps. Many believe it’s Bulma due to the effects of the weapon she’ll get, and the skin is reactive and called Barium.
The event is said to last seven weeks, with special events to collect cosmetics, XP, items, and more. Everyone’s favorite mode of transportation, the glider, is said to be the Battle Pod.
The Dragon Balls are present, but no one knows what role they play. Some leaks suggest you’ll get a Dragon Ball for completing one of the special events, while others believe they’ll be consumable.
What’s next for Fortnite?
Fortnite has collaborated with top franchises like Star Wars, Marvel, DC, Stranger Things, and football. They’ve also collaborated with creators like Marshmello and Travis Scott.
Chapter 2: Season 7 has had more collaborations than any other, and the list keeps growing. Another franchise that fans are hoping to see in the game is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
But we’ll have to wait and see what Fortnite unveils next!
