The JoJo Stone Ocean Part 2 release date on Netflix is on Thursday, September 1, 2022. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean Episodes 13 through 24 will be released as a batch on a single day.

The episodes will also be broadcast weekly in Japan during Fall 2022 starting on October 7, 2022. However, bilibili began broadcasting starting on September 1, 2022.

Based on the official details for the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean Blu-Ray release dates, it’s expected that the JoJo Stone Ocean Part 3 release date in Japan will be in early 2023. The third part will be the final season. (Please see the other newer article for more details about JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean Part 3.)

The exact JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean Part 2 release date was announced by a new trailer during Anime Expo 2022 on July 2, 2022.

While some anime fans were hoping that JoJo Stone Ocean would return in Spring 2022, the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean Episode 13 release date has been confirmed to be scheduled for… Fall 2022.

(Back then I heard the sound of a million anime fans suddenly crying out.)

This announcement was made at Anime Japan 2022: Day One on March 26, 2022. Although the event didn’t have any English subtitles if you look in the chat section Warner Bros. Japan anime provided a live translation by summarizing the pertinent comments by the voice actors.

Netflix will have anime fans rushing back to stream JoJo Stone Ocean Episode 13 – 24 when it comes out on Netflix. That’s right, the second part will have 12 episodes in total.

Typically, the Fall 2022 anime season is considered to be October, November, and December, whereas September 2022 is the ending of the Summer 2022 anime season.

How to resolve that apparent contradiction between the official announcement and the actual release date? It seems that the worldwide Netflix distribution is early in September 2022, whereas the Japanese TV broadcast is in Fall 2022.

This JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean Part 2 trailer previewed a bit of Episode 13. It was shown at the end of the Japanese TV broadcast of Episode 12 on March 25, 2022. A new version with English subtitles was released the next day.

There’s been a lot of confusion in regards to Netflix’s release schedule for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6, which is JoJo Season 5 in the overall series. JoJo Part 6 Episode 13 is the next in the lineup, but the Netflix Media Center didn’t even provide a hint when JoJo: Stone Ocean premiered on December 1, 2021.

In early September 2021, Netflix stated that JoJo Part 6 will be streaming “monthly” on their platform. But then in early October 2021 Netflix’s media center listing for JoJo Part 6: Stone Ocean was silently updated and it no longer lists the TV show as “releasing monthly”.

By December 14, 2021, the Netflix Anime Twitter account was still advertising JoJo Stone Ocean as “streaming” without providing any status update on the continuation.

On April 15, 2022, Netflix further announced that JoJo Stone Ocean Part 2 Episodes 13 through 22 are being released on Netflix as a batch again. Oddly enough, the older trailer clearly stated, “Episodes 13 – 24 coming 2022,” but the newer Netflix Geeked tweet apparently reduced the number of episodes down to 10. On July 2, 2022, the original Jojo Twitter listed 12 episodes so apparently the Netflix Geeked tweet was made in error.

This article provides everything that is known about Netflix’s JoJo Stone Ocean Part 2 (JoJo Part 6 Episode 13 / JoJo Stone Ocean Episode 13 / JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean Episode 13) and all related news. As such, this article will be updated over time with news, rumors, and analysis. Meanwhile, let’s delve down into what is known for certain.

JoJo Part 6 Episode 13 release date means the ending is in 2023

Animation studio David Production returned for producing JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Season 5. The company has produced all of the anime seasons since the series began in 2012.

As of the last update, Netflix, Studio David Production, or any company related to the production of the anime has officially confirmed the exact JoJo Stone Ocean Part 2 release date in Japan.

The total number of episodes for Stone Ocean was announced by the Blu-Ray box sets on August 10, 2022. The final episode will be JoJo Stone Ocean Episode 38.

The first 12 episodes of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Season 5 were streaming internationally first and then weekly TV broadcasting in Japan began on January 7, 2022, the Winter 2022 anime season.

The Anime Japan 2022 announcement means that David Productions plans JoJo Stone Ocean Part 2 to be released as a split-cour anime.

What’s a “cour,” you might ask? For those unfamiliar with the lingo, a “cour” is a three-month block of TV broadcasting based on the physical seasons usually composed of 10 to 13 episodes.

A “split-cour” is where a single anime season takes a multi-month break before resuming TV broadcasting.

Assuming that Netflix continues to release the episodes first, the JoJo Stone Ocean Episode 13 release date will be in September 2022 and then Japanese TV stations will begin broadcasting JoJo Stone Ocean Part 2 a little later in October 2022.

In Japan, the JoJo Stone Ocean Episode 24 release date will be in late December 2022 at the earliest, although the finale could potentially be pushed back to early January 2023 if the TV time slot scheduling conflicts with Christmas and New Year’s Eve broadcasting.

In addition, the JoJo Stone Ocean Part 3 Blu-Ray release date is on May 31, 2022. Therefore, the JoJo Stone Ocean Part 3 release date will definitely be in early 2023.

JoJo Stone Ocean Part 3 is the ending

The ending of Stone Ocean has caused JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6 to be one of the most controversial parts in the entire manga series by creator Hirohiko Araki. Without getting into major spoilers, the final episodes to Stone Ocean will be quite shocking since the bittersweet ending changes the entire JoJo continuity as a sort of setup for the newer manga parts, JoJo Part 7: Steel Ball Run, JoJo Part 8: JoJolion, and JoJo Part 9: JoJo Lands.

The JoJo Stone Ocean story arc ran from 1999 to 2003 in the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga series. It’s 17 volumes in total, consisting of Volumes 64 through 80 in the entire series.

All of the previous anime TV parts have had multiple cours. The longest was the Stardust Crusaders arc with 48 episodes in total, while Diamond Is Unbreakable and Golden Wind were both 39 episodes each.

The first Netflix release, which ended with JoJo Stone Ocean Episode 12, adapted the first 50 chapters. JoJo Stone Ocean Episode 13 should pick up the story again in Chapter 51, which is titled “Kiss of Love & Revenge”.

Since the Stone Ocean manga had 158 chapters, David Production will adapt the story as a three-cour JoJo Season 5 with 38 episodes. That mean the third cour will have 14 episodes.

Let’s just hope that JoJo Stone Ocean Part 3 will give justice to the manga’s epic conclusion. Stay tuned!
