The JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean Part 2 anime will apparently only have 10 episodes, which is two less than originally announced by Netflix.
JoJo Stone Ocean Part 2 begins with JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean Episode 13. On April 15, 2022, Netflix further announced that JoJo Stone Ocean Part 2 Episodes 13 through 22 are being released on Netflix as a batch again.
Oddly enough, the older Anime Japan 2022 trailer clearly stated, “Episodes 13 – 24 coming 2022,” but the newer Netflix Geeked tweet apparently reduced the number of episodes down to 10.
“who’s hype for new episodes of JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE: STONE OCEAN,” tweeted Netflix Geeked. “JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE: STONE OCEAN episodes 13-22 coming later this year.”
This change cannot be explained away as simply a typo. Earlier, the Netflix Geeked account also stated, “‘I’ll be stronger than anyone. Stone Ocean!’ JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE: STONE OCEAN episodes 13 – 22 coming 2022.”
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean Part 2 release date is in Fall 2022
As of the last update, Netflix, Studio David Production, or any company related to the production of the anime has not officially confirmed the exact JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean Part 2 release date. Nor has the total number of episodes for Stone Ocean been announced.
But we do know that there will be at least 22 episodes and the JoJo Part 6 Episode 13 release date is in Fall 2022.
Unfortunately, the April 2022 announcement by Netflix Geeked did not narrow down the release time frame any further. Nor did the announcement discuss whether Japanese TV stations will begin broadcasting JoJo Stone Ocean Part 2 a little later after the Netflix streaming release, which is what happened for Part 1.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean Part 3 ending the story arc in 2023
While there is a lot of uncertainty regarding JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean Part 2, what can be said with certainty is that 10 episodes are not nearly enough runtime for covering the remainder of Jolyne Cujoh’s story. There will be yet another anime sequel in 2023.
JoJo Stone Ocean Episode 12 adapted the first 50 chapters of the Stone Ocean manga by creator Hirohiko Araki. The manga had 158 chapters divided up between 17 book volumes. JoJo Stone Ocean Episode 13 should pick up the story again in Chapter 51, which is titled “Kiss of Love & Revenge”.
The final episode of JoJo Stone Ocean Part 3 will be quite shocking since the ending changes the entire JoJo continuity as a sort of setup for the newer manga parts, JoJo Part 7: Steel Ball Run, JoJo Part 8: JoJolion, and JoJo Part 9: JoJo Lands.
